You know those moments where your playing and you just say OOOHHHHHH or crack a big smile because you nailed it and it sounded good, that's what this video achieved for me, it gets so boring just running my scales everyday, this 100 percent makes me sound more impressive. Thanks Again Stich! another A+ lesson

This was a GREAT refresher course for me! I haven't played for over 5 years, but the worst part was a brain tumor I had removed 2 years ago. I remember some things about playing, but some things have been lost. I just started again a month ago, and started playing the blues right away. I remembered how to solo in the root, but I just stayed there...which does work....but I couldn't remember if I could switch the scales based on the 4 & 5 or not. I guess I could have experimented myself, but then I wouldn't have found your channel. So thanks SO MUCH!!

Dude I’m glad I subscribed. I first picked up a guitar at age 50 and have just been strumming easy Stones and Beatles songs for 10 years. I’m bored and frustrated with my horrible skill set so now that I’m retired I thought I would try to become a guitarist rather than a “fun strummer” (old TV commercial reference). Thanks for your easily understandable lessons!
@jackh5774 жыл бұрын
Ray S, same here. Been just a strummer for years. Tried learning scales and soling a while back, but just got frustrated. Finally found Stich and a few other guys on KZbin, that have helped me understand things better. Playing guitar has never been more fun!!

@@jackh577 Same here Jack. Knew a few tricks with lead back in the 80's but knew nothing really. Recent career ending injury and I'm finding out how little I knew. Stitch is a great teacher. You can see the love he has playing our instrument. Simple (for Stitch) but he is still floating away with it. Love that. Well, I'm 56 now with some tendonitis and arthritis and 4 titanium ribs oh and fractured spine, and buried my wife in January. Thank God for whoever came up with these combination of six strings. Sorry bout the run-off. Let's do this !

Congrats.I have to admit,that your explanation of dorian,aeolian from pentatonics is a mind opener for a beginner.To explain that penta(5) is a scale w/o the 2, and 6. note is enough to quickly learn the diatonic scale.Knowing pentatonic well is needed,but is sthg that people learn first.Nice job.And in this video you show great example how to use pentatonics w/ caged system to chord chasing.Man,I'm beginning to admire your style of teaching.Simple,yet eyeopening.Bye from sLOVEnia,EU 5.40A.M. @@StichMethodGuitar I really appreciate your help with the rhythm side of the jam. I know asking your help in this area is like asking Einstein to teach Introduction to Physics, but there are few teachers helping on that side of the jam. I think the lack of creativity on the rhythm side and poor and uninteresting timing are why my jam sessions fizzle. The rhythm guitars sound like that awful backing track I put on your Facebook page.. Thank you so much.

Back in college I was in an original rock band. We had a song called "Spaghetti Western" -- a minor blues starting on Am. I played bass in the band (because we couldn't find a bass player!) but on this particular song, I played guitar and my band-mate switched to bass. Played the minor barre chords on the 5th and 7th frets. So at the point in the song where I took a solo, I stumbled fairly consistently. I knew chords all over the neck (though I didn't refer to the chord shapes as "CAGED") but I didn't know scales -- not even pentatonic scale shapes. So I basically just tried to play riffs and motifs in the key, in a couple different neck positions (5th fret and 12th fret). This was my chance to take the lead guitar spotlight and . . . it generally sounded very disappointing (to be generous). If I had known then what I know now . . . .
