Merry Christmas buddy. They do well with plants and love algae. Molm is really great and helps them multiply. If you have a shrimp tank, that is a good place to keep them. I have a bunch of them in mine. Well, I just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas. It’s been a very long time. I hope you are doing well.

Dear Jack: It depends on the species of gammarus, but it is my understanding that some will devour shrimplets. I’ve even heard that some eat the eggs, carried by female shrimp. As I am unsure of which species of gammarus I have, I think it best, to keep them out of my, shrimp tanks. I am pleased to hear, that you are having good success, with this, terrific, live food. Thank you, for your interest and lovely comment. Please post updates, on your tanks. All my best, Sincerely, Brinegar

@ I probably should look into it more. Every time I have noticed scuds it was in my dedicated shrimp tanks. Which is obvious, because if they were in with fish, they would be eaten. Most everyone I have talked to said they leave shrimp alone and actually like to need detritus and algae. I never knew there were multiple species of them until now. Right now I’m not really doing the KZbin thing. Who knows, maybe I will one day start it up again. Things with my spouse has gotten so bad that I had to quit putting out content. I ended up putting him in a nursing home because I was unable to take care of him. We had a bigger home that I was unable to continue to live in as it cost too much money for the electricity and the mortgage. I ended up selling that home and getting a smaller house to live in. Sadly, my spouse passed away a week ago. I’m comforted knowing that his struggle is over and he is in a much better place. With that, I got rid of the majority of my aquariums. I am now down to just a couple. My community aquarium crashed on me. I’m not sure what happened. My water chemistry C didn’t seem to show anything, but my plants were not looking so great and I had also lost the majority of my fish. I ended up tearing it down and redoing the tank all over. I have it all setup again. This time my stocking options are all platy fish and mollies. I also have Brodie, my Samurai Betta. I have found that the bigger the tank and giving a betta a place to retreat whenever he feels like he needs a break, he does well in a community aquarium with other fish. This Samurai betta actually fits right in with my livebearers and swims around with them instead of acting like the school bully like most bettas do. I love this aquarium so much, I wish I did this years ago.

Dear Jack: To rid it of Malaysian trumpet snails, I redid one of my, 75-gallon tanks, twice! Getting coal slag, with compost to dry, sufficiently, to kill all those pests was problematic. The second time I set it up, I still removed two, live snails. After about a month, it appears that I succeeded in ridding that tank of all of them. I’ve added jungle vallisneria (Vallisneria Gigantea), but not fish, yet. The water continues to be quite brown, from the tannin exuded, by the compost. This will eventually go down, with numerous, water changes. I completely understand your taking a break, from YouTubing. You have had to go through several, devastating things. Perhaps in time you will again be interested in posting videos, of your hobby. You are very good at it and many hobbyists will benefit, from your experience. Thank you, for communicating, with me. Sincerely, Brinegar

@ was what you wrote meant for someone else? I didn’t ask you anything about trumpet snails.

You said that you redid a tank. That reminded me of my, recent redo, of a tank, which took two attempts, before I managed to rid it of pest snails.
