Thanks, I did hit a root last year pretty good and pushed the deck back into the blade good enough to put a gash in the deck on the left side. I just replaced the deck account of rust holes also, I wanting to get it right before I start using it again. Your videos have been very helpful for getting everything back on the right way and even went out and bought some anti-seize. I will go and check to see if I do have a bent blade, I just put it all back together a couple of days ago and I am wait for one of the springs that is ordered to go back on the deck. Thanks again for your help.

+Dennis Null I have a tool that checks for a bent blade but you can stack your blades. That will show if you have a bent one or just buy a new set.

Positively brilliant idea. My stupid pos Black Max lawn mower has a drive cable with no adjustment feature so I may be able to adopt your clever repair to my situation. VIDEO IDEA >>>> maybe can you do a video on repairing wobbly push mower wheels by removing the worn out axle sleeves (bushings) and pressing in new ones? The main problem is finding replacement sleeves (bushings), they just don't sell them and make you buy a whole new wheel for $20 or more. Often times the axle diameter is worn out also. What does Taryl have in his bag of tricks for that?

Do you have any videos on how to level your mower deck on a Craftsman LT2000 42 inch late model riding lawn mower?
@TarylFixesAll8 жыл бұрын
+Dennis Null First, did you hit something? If you did you need to check & see if the blades are in line put them Tip to tip , They should line up If not the deck shell is bent or you have a bent blade. Also check tire pressure Uneven tire pressure will cause bad cut. Make sure you don't have a broken deck link that will cause uneven cut if those things are good then Check out Taryls tools every lawn mower mech should have part 1 they make a tool for checking deck level . Can buy from the Interscreen. Try those tips & theres yur Dinner!

I have a craftsman 17hp lawn tractor with a 42" cut...... the blades wouldn't engage, so I removed the deck, then the belt, and I found the idler pulley had grass built up under it that prevented the pulley from fully engaging. The cause of the grass build up was a 2' hole in the deck. I had the deck welded and reinstalled with a new belt. I was ready to cut grass. Everything seemed perfect until I hit some high grass and the blades slowly stopped. I heard you mention that there was a way to tighten the tension on the belts on another video. Can you refer to me that video or tell me how to tighten the tension on my craftsman belts.

Hey Taryl, do you have a video on a rear drive MTD push mower? Mine keeps throwing the belt. The trans pulley looks like it's in good working order, and the guides are still in place, but the belt throws off just as fast as I engage the clutch. The belt is only 1 month old too. I only cut the lawn 3 times with this replacement belt before this started happening again. The guides on the front cover at the engine pulley aren't worn through, but I'm wondering if they are worn enough to allow the belt to slip by the pulley? Any help would be appreciated.

My belt slipped of pulley because all the crap under the cover and when I looked there was no spring,only bolt. Spent 45 mins looking for a similar bolt to temporary hold me. I would rather do this than spend 15 dollars on a spring that probably wont work as good as what i have right now.
