It took me a little bit to get used to passing in madden 24. The more u practice the more it’ll become second nature to u. For me I rarely even make throws holding the left trigger now

Just keep practicing. One thing to help with that is to hit ur short passes. If u get used to free forming short passes the long passes will come naturally as well

So a lot of the time I actually hold LT when I snap the ball because I know I’ll be free form passing. But when I’m not doing that I hold LT right when I know who I’m about to pass it to. Then with the left stick i pretty much do it simultaneously. Example: if I want to throw it to a streak down the field and I see that he’s open. I’ll hold LT and move the left stick up as I press the receiver button. So everything should really happen right when u make the decision who ur throwing to. I hope that makes sense

I know just keep my pointer finger on the left trigger (not necessarily holding it down just on top of it) and then within a second or two if throwing the ball that’s when I decide if it needs a free form pass or not, hopefully that makes sense

Dumb question but do you free form post routes? Example that flood concept play you were running, the WR on the left side against cover 3 should have a small space between the mlb and safety behind him. How would you angle that FF pass?

No dumb questions here my brotha! So ultimately it depends on where the defense is if i free form. But I would say 60-70% of the time I will have to free for posts away from deep safeties. And what route are u talking about specifically for the second question? Maybe tell me what minute in the video you’re talking about so I know for sure😎 thanks for the question

I mean halfway more so to make sure it’s not an overthrow. In the case you are talking about i would probably hold it all the way to make sure you can get the ball away from the defenders.

Basically you have to go an practice your passing an play with the settings to get used to the mechanic. I guess it's to have a skill gap to separate the noob from the pro. I like it. it's just going to take time to figure it out 😂

No not at all because with lower rated QBs you’ll find that it is a lot harder to make accurate throws with free form. The way throwing is this year sometimes lower rated QBs throw the ball to Taylor swift up in the stands

So all u do is hold L2 and press the icon u want to throw to. U can either bullet pass the ball while holding L2, lob pass, or touch pass it. As long as ur holding L2 when u press the button to throw the free form will be activated

@dubc2922 so all of that happens simultaneously. say u wanted to lead the receiver straight down the field, you would hold L2, press the receiver icon, and hold the left stick up all at the same time. Then when the QB releases the ball there’s no need to hold on to any of those buttons, u usually want to click on to the receiver you’re throwing to

You can aim it any directions homie. If u need to lead your receiver up and to the left u can aim it that way. Don’t restrict yourself from up and down because then you won’t be able to lead passing other ways. U can lead pass any direction u want. Hope this helps

I free form probably 95% of the time. Since passing in madden 24 is inconsistent sometimes if a receiver is WIDE OPEN. I’ll just regularly throw him the ball. But ya most of the time it’s Freeform passes

I do want to throw more TDs and less interceptions, which is exactly why I play NFL2K5. Coverages make sense, ball trajectory is correct, great QBs play like great QBs. 30 years of Madden and they haven’t figured out the fade route.
