Ill save everyone the trouble, bright as SM4, same or a hair more technical than SM4, size big, kinda uncomfortable for me and that's it. Soft tunning that left me wanting for more. Maybe kpop fans will love it. Nothing less nothing more, overhyped.

Out of all my IEM'S, the Chopin is by far my favorite. I don't own any kilo buck IEM'S with the most expensive being in the 300.00 range, but the Chopin easily eats everything I own for lunch.

I had a little back and forth with Akros on whether these are midcentric. It looks like that depends on the volume for me but also, as you suggested, on the depth of the fit. These replaced my personal favorite in this price range Cadenza 4. Except Cadenza 4 fits me perfectly and P50 makes my ears hurt after an hour (I tried a dozen of different tips). Probably nozzle length is the issue. It is hard to compare shells.

How does the EPZ P50 compare to the Tanchjim Origin in terms of detail retrieval, soundstage, which has better timbre and natural tone, overall performance? I'm planning to pick one of these two IEMs but can't decide which one

Yeah fair bit of similarity with P50 and Quintet. I'd say biggest difference is I recall Quintet had a slightly grating treble quality that's not here with the P50. Also P50 fits me better.

Did you try it vs softears studio 4? I know they are different price points and driver configuration but they graph VERY similar. More so than when comparing with volume S actually. Would like your take on it. Can the ep50 be considered a poor man's studio 4?

There are similarities with Studio4, including the more contrasty sound I described here. Studio4 is a bit more vocal focused and less bass though.

Could someone help plz? I love my blessing 2 dusk but theyre getting old. I have to look for smth new before they fall apart. I tried the new dusk and they are way worse imho. I think the subbase of the blessing 2 dusk is kind of important for me because the new dusk did sound extremely thin for me. Which IEM is similar to the blessing 2 dusk? MD Variations maybe?

Chopin is so bright. I don't know whether my ears or bad or whether there's unit variation but ouch. I also don't understand how you sleep in IEMs. I would just oversleep my alarm if I tried that.

No DD/BA or hybrid iem is truly open back, they all require some amount of dampening to achieve their tuning. The faceplates are just aesthetic.

Hi Mark Please could you help me . I recently bought the moon drop dusk after your advice. However they’re far too big for my ears . I love them is there anything similar with a better bass and smaller that you can think of.

Better bass will be hard. Volume S fits a bit smaller, but not a big delta. This EPZ is quite a bit smaller. And smallest would be something like IE 600, which also has really nice bass.

Thank goodness it’s just your opinion. I have the Novas and they are very good but they’re way too V-shaped sounding to my ears. I prefer my Letshouer S12 2024 Ed and the Thieaudio Hype 4 when the mood strikes. Not the GOAT’s but then there’s no such thing as the GOAT in this hobby - or any hobby for that matter.
