Thank you for making this video!!! I’ve been slowly building my exposure unit for a couple months now and the wiring was the last major thing I’ve been trying to figure out. This helps sooooo much!!!

1)For the wiring what gauge should I use. 2) At Home Depot I noticed so many spools of wire in all sorts of colors…do I need a specific color. Also are there any specific wires that I need or are most the same. Or are the colors just to help me organize example (get white colored wire to attach to neutral wire from pigtail and black wire to attach to hot wires) 3)I noticed I can’t see any of your self tapping screws from your L channel coming out the other end of your light box. How did you do that. 4)When setting up your big lights- how did you keep them upright. What parts did you use to put together the base of the bulb attached it’s attached to Thank you so much

Purchased everything you suggested, pins from were too small, so I purchased them from LED Supply. I'm doing a replacement, from flourescent to LED. Followed your directions, and only half the lights came on. I can't figure this wiring out.

Update: I did remove the pins from the list. Thanks for pointing that out. Glad you got your lights working after our emails back and forth. Wishing you much printing success!!!

Fantastic video! your first video on the box was great and this topped it off!!! could you suggest another 120v timer that I could use for my exposure box that is a little cheaper?
@prodigalsonapparel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Haylee! I appreciate the feedback. Sorry but I haven't done much research into other timers. Im sure as long as you find one that is 120 volt input and output and can switch on/off 0-999 seconds (mine actually exposes in only 16sec) then you should be okay. You could always shoot me an email at psapparel.helpdesk@gmail if you find one you might be questioning. I'll do my best to respond.

what was the wire gauge you used for all the connections to the safe lights from the switches
@prodigalsonapparel Жыл бұрын
You could use 14 gauge

This is awesome. Thank you so much. What kind of wire are you using on the strips?
@prodigalsonapparel3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I just used some wire I cut off of some old ballasts I had. Probably close to an 18 or 20 gauge. The wire I used was a solid wire and I think I would have been better off using a thin standard wire. I would even suggest purchasing a small roll of thin (18 gauge) standard wire. I found that the solid wire was harder to work with when making my connections in the wire nuts.

Hello, thank you for sharing! I was doing the math on how much I would need, and I was planning on running 48 ft total at 44in a strip of the HD 60 LED. I would have 22 ft on one driver and 26 ft on the other. I was going to run them in parallel, so there is no voltage drop. Would the drivers at 60-12 still work? From what I understand, 16.4 (Full Roll) is a 40 W draw, so if I ran the entire 48 ft of HD 60LED, would that mean I need a 120 W driver?
@prodigalsonapparel2 жыл бұрын
Im following you on the 2nd part or your question. Yes, you would need at the very least 120 watt output on your driver(s). Im not sure that they carry a driver with 120v output. You might have to split it up between 2-3 driver and just spread out your load as even as possible (not going over your driver rating on each). The part that lost me on the 1st question is the 60-12. It could just be that I'm super tired and my brtain is foggy but what do you mean by 60-12?
@Chevy19622 жыл бұрын
Sorry about that. the 60-12 is the LPV 60w-12v driver I was planing on running two drivers at that ratting for the 48 ft. But it sounds like i should run 3 drivers and make them as evenly as possible?
@Chevy19622 жыл бұрын
Thank you for all the help I figured out the correct driver that I would need to run !! Stay blessed

@@Chevy1962 Got it. Yes either way is fine. Just as long as you dont go over the wattage on any one driver. I try to keep mine below the rating when at all possible.

Do you have wiring diagram for automatic shutoff i think it needs contactor
@prodigalsonapparel3 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about a shut off for the the light? My build does not have a contactor. Basically as soon as I hit my third switch (for the timer/LED lights) the timer kicks on which supplies power to the LEDs. Then once my preset time counts down from 16 seconds. once it reaches zero the LED lights turn off. So in a way the timer is acting like a contactor. The light circuits is closed (on) when I hit the switch, then the light circuit opens (off) automatically once countdown reaches zero. Although the vacuum pump doesn't shut off automatically. I've always just hit that switch off once my exposure is complete.

hi sir, can i know how to calculate the power supply? i have 15 led strips each is 1.2 meter with 120 diode per strip. How much watt power supply should i apply?
@prodigalsonapparel2 жыл бұрын
Your power strips should have a wattage associated with them. Do you have the information where you purchased them from? They should come with a wattage rating when you buy them.
