East Anglia Transport Museum London Trolleybus Event 2012

Filmed at the East Anglia Transport Museum on 6th May 2012, during an event to commemorate 50 years since the closure of the London trolleybus system. Trolleybuses seen in action are A1 class (Diddler) 1, C2 class 260, H1 class 796, K2 class 1201 & 1348, L3 class 1521 and Q1 class 1768 & 1812, along with Newcastle BUT 9641T 628 and London HR2 tram 1858.

Never to be seen again. Shame 1348 hardly appears, as John Crossley and myself, plus a few others, worked damned hard to get it there. Lower saloon only, as we found woodworm in the top deck floor (and had not paid its fare). It has the right route number on then, and 1812 had the adverts I painted on when I restored it from being Spanish ! Shame ner'do'noughts have to spoil others hard work.

Nine complete vehicles, plus a Q1 chassis in the LT Museum collection.

@@Shaunbd1010 That's quite impressive. Have they ever been all collected together? And... is there any other municipal fleet with a similar number of saved vehicles? Bournemouth? Bradford?

@@InCAdocumentaries This event was the closest they have ever got to getting all of them together, with 8 of them. The ninth one is in the LT museum at Covent Garden. Probably the only municipal fleet with a similar number of preserved vehicles is Bradford. Not sure how many of their vehicles are preserved, but there are a lot!
