Proud Asian here. Just wanted to say this kind of music represents what makes Asian countries so great on a figurative level. We uphold our age old traditions but are also at the forefront of modernity. This is especially true of Japan, Korea, and Taiwan (the reason I don't use China here is b/c of the Cultural Revolution and how a lot of Chinese today frankly don't care much about their rich history).

well said, I am from the west but I have came to notice these cultures from your asia. It's not easy to recognize, even after going to the country. Seeing it doesn't really helps you to understand this. FEELING the joy of the culture and music is different though - in fact the tradition from Japan and their etiquette is what got me started on anime. I have to admit, anime is the best thing out there in the world - it makes all the movies and series 'pl0t' look like trash - it really shows the feelings to us. Those who think anime is bad is really no different form "judging the cover of a book" which most people seem to believe they understand - nevertheless, society in our side is shit, we learnt near zero of our past and forget the things we have done. Your comment made me realize this more, I completely support your pride as to be an Asian - I have complete respect for you *bows*

theworldhere247 Hello, Chinese person here! My family has always been proud of their heritage. I know members who've survived through the Cultural Revolution and have many tales to tell, but it's true that that and WWII has caused our own culture to decline slightly. Still, I've discussed this with my brother many times: if we continued to follow our views from ancient China of familial piety, we probably wouldn't have evolved into an industrial superpower and would still be stuck in that horrible situation we were around WWII. I am disappointed by how many Chinese people act rude or uneducated when poor or spoiled and haughty when rich, but I don't think it's fair to cut China out of the list just yet. Given how crazy China's history has been, there's always something to appreciate, even when we always get the short end of the stick when it comes to things that include us and Japan. Not that I dislike Japan at all. The older I get, the more I realize how their actions during WWII were in no way acceptable and why so many Chinese people are still upset about it now, but I do believe that modern Japan is quite amazing and should not be continuously locked in versus battles with China. Plus it's cool how China influenced Japan so much way back when!
