@@summer031977let’s not be naive. Having bases in Japan provides strategic advantages for the US in the Pacific. Even having bases in SK, Guam, and Japan the US still strong-armed the Philippines to resigning their security pact several years ago.

That is such a ludicrous demand from this man.Haven’t he asked permission a few weeks ago but was brushed off. Japan was the chief client state of US and he doesn’t know what the functions of client state means? The American like to use a more polite term for it called ally , but if you put it in action form, it would be like a dog and his owner relationship.

That's not true. Ally doesn't mean a master and a student. The United States is much bigger and stronger than Japan. If China was an ally of Japan, do you think it would be an equal relationship? No. Many things in diplomatic relationships are unspoken.
