I got some serious stains out of a white vintage dress by soaking it in water with white vinegar for 24 hours. It was amazing, I thought that dress was a goner! You got amazing hero items! That dress! That coat! The shirt though! wowza howza ... BTW wish you would do another live just talking styling .... those were so so helpful!

Can you tell us more details about this? How much vinegar to how much water? Did you put it in the washing machine after the soak? I have some white pieces I've been trying to get stains out with - would love any advice you have to give!

I do the same. If not vinegar then baking soda and peroxide.

thx for sharing that...it's always so tricky with stains because I am afraid of making things worse..I ended up dyeing a vintage white lace dress because it was a bit off...and it came out fabulous in emerald green!! too bad I can't fit into it right now ha ha

I add degreaser, peroxide, baking soda and vinegar to my soaks. Everything gets super bright! Rub it into the stain if soaking doesn't get everything. It works like a charm. For stubborn rust, ink or blood, I use Lime Away. Test the fabric in an inconspicuous place 1st, though.

To get the stain out of the dress: mix oxiclean with delicate laundry detergent and make a paste. Apply to the stain and leave for a few hours. Rinse with cold water. Works every time.

Green Palmolive and baking soda into a paste and put it on the rub it into the clothing and then wash and let dry don't put it in the dryer and the stain will come

I go to a place called Red, White, and Blue in my area if I want a huge selection. Lots of crap, but if you really dig, there is great stuff to be found. It’s a good place for jeans, jackets, authentic camo and cool print T-shirts. Last time I went I got a pair of like new Dan Post cowboy boots for $10. My upper class town has a small shop, and the stuff tends to be higher end though it’s gotten really pricey. If you want interesting, I feel you need to go to major cities. New Hope in Pa. has a few great shops too, but I rarely feel like taking the drive there. Shopping vintage is like treasure hunting. I feel so much more excited than I do when I buy new. I love Poshmark and Etsy too, especially Poshmark, because you can negotiate, and the selection is enormous.
