The top speed the train can go on the skegness branch line is upto 90mph that's why it didn't feel as fast as it Normally would

The restricting factor along that route is the line speed. Not sure it can be increased with the current signalling or infrastructure in place

I believe ruling line speed is 60mph. Very run down former main line. Miles of straight track would be suitable for high speed but not economic

I have seen emr run hsts to Skegness normally its class 153 156 158s to there in a 4 or 6 car set they run them if no sprinters are available this train probaly had 7 or 8 coaches max speed on this line is about 100mph which is good for a HST

@@Ed_Gilbert Thanks for the info also all hsts have been withdrawn by emr there replacements are voyagers class 180s hybrid vehicles like the class 800 801 and 802 ect replacements for 156s are class 170s 171s (to be converted back into 170s) speculated class 185s from tpe ect.

I don't think the line speed is as fast as a HST would normally go.. as the "normal" trains have limits of 90/100 mph it seems slower?

yeah that would make sense, it just seemed a lot slower than i had imagined (if that makes any sense at all🤣)
