The quality of Japanese female groups on stage is breathtaking!

Akane’s vocals are incredible. I concur the song gets better and better as it goes along. The whole new album is really good. Definitely a band to watch

That is what I love about Japanese bands, they like to change the tempo or genre and mix it up. Love the song.

That was in the end why i was already in the 70s and 80s a big fan of bands like Yes and Genesis and everything we called "symphonic rock" at that time. And in the 2000s now its mostly "symphonic metal" i listen to.

@@beldin2987 I totally agree with you. Having grown up with those bands I’m finding a lot of the new groups, especially from Japan, have me listening a lot more again, and keeping me engaged.

Her and Saki have always been 2 of my favorite guitarist out of the Japan for a while, I just hope this isnt the end of D_Drive.

@@BulletProofSoul1029 I hope so too. Don’t think it is, though. Loving Saki too, Nemophila is maybe my number One band atm. Kanami(Band-Maid)on my top3 list too. Pure genius as a composer and true rock n’ Roll Star on stage.

@@BulletProofSoul1029 aye, I love D_Drive also, since before the current bass player joined. I think Chiiko does a great job of keeping them out there. I doubt they are going anywhere. I really hope East of Eden soars and catches fire, but also want D_Drive to continue. I am confident they will find a way to make them both work. The ability to have side projects and multiple bands is an amazing part of the Japanese Music scene. Just look at Hazuki in both Nemophila and KOIAI. not too worried.

The band is Hanabie with the extra vowel at the end. Hanabi (firework) doesn't. Both use Hana (flower) as the root. Exploding fireworks are thought to resemble flowers in Japan.

By the way, Japanese love fireworks. In the summer season, they put on some of the best and biggest in the world.

????? You know that the band is East of Eden and that this song is called Hanabi?

@otobokegaijin621811 ай бұрын
There's more to this song's title than simply the fireworks meaning. The fireworks "hanabi" would be written 花火 . But the song title is 花美. This expression can be read "hanabi" too (火 and 美 are homophones), but 花美 is an alternate form of 華美, pronounced "kabi", which is an expression from classical Chinese and Japanese literature and means "splendor" or "vibrant beauty". So there's a double meaning, which is clearly reflected in the song's lyrics.

@@otobokegaijin6218. Thank you! I always appreciate and read your insightful knowledge to the language and culture. This is just an outsiders perspective, but it seems Asians love the double meanings. Maybe that is my ignorance of very complex languages. Anyway thank you.

I love all the change ups giving the different flavours in this one. I understand why the “Stand Up” could be monotonous but in listening to some of the other Japanese bands they seem to have a knack of giving a very catchy hook no matter what the rest of the song is like. I think this is important, especially for a new band, to appeal to a wider range of listeners. I do like what the band is doing underneath it however. Nothing complicated but just a hard driving rhythm.

Like this band very much. Their debut album arrived at my door last Friday, and I've been annoying the neighbors with it over the weekend. Noting the members of the group, what does this tell us about D-Drive and Lonesome Blue (is the latter's hiatus permanent)?
