East-West Line train disruption to continue into 2nd day

Train services between Jurong East and Buona Vista will continue to be suspended on Sep 26. Services on the East-West Line were disrupted for a longer stretch between Boon Lay and Queenstown MRT stations from 9.25am on Sep 25 and remained suspended for the rest of the day. In the latest update, the Land Transport Authority says the damage to tracks is extensive and more time is needed to make the necessary repairs and replacements. Alexandra Anand reports.

Basically old train caused this big issue.Increase in fares constantly but cannot change train.Highest paid Transport Minister in the world cant do his job who is responsible for SimplyGo and ERP 2.0 screw up.Just one F-35 fighter jet can buy at least 10 trains.They will ownself check ownself and say unexpected issue and all their contingency plans in case of such an issue is top notch.

Maintenance does not mean wait for anything to break down then get ready to repair. There is this thing called safety check by visual inspection, not AI and take action before any sudden incident that screw up everything. Earlier this year, during heavy rain, few ceiling board dropped off from Lakeside station, just before I stepped out. Upon looking at it, anyone can tell it needs replacement long ago. So who is checking?

This is a good observation, to be honest I have noticed for years the entire east west-north south line which are first generation stations have zero maintenance regime. Dirty unpainted walls/roofing/ventilation pretty much everything is run down. Compare this to Thailand train system, damn they make us shitty. Wonder where all the funds go to annually???

The is such a thing call Preventive Maintenance, if they have done this, incident like this will not happen! Good thing, this time no one got hurt when the train derailed, but who is to say more serious incident will not happen if this keep going on!
