She was too plain and posh to be mistress with any competition against Angie. Jan has far too much of the Prim and Proper Auntie/Mother vibe. If they wanted someone to be a good mistress for Dirty Den, they should've gotten somebody who was more glamorous on a level of Dynasty's Joan Collins, Stephanie Beacham, or Kate O'Mara. Somebody like that would not only be on the Posh side, but also give Angie a run for her money in the looks department! Joan Collins and Kate O'Mara particularly had the Wicked Stepmother/Disney Villainess vibe on them!

An obsessive housewife - yeah have come across that myself and I think Pauline is one Lofty. Pauline was terrible to Michelle. No sympathy at all just annoyance that her house isn't ordered. She could have found out who the father was. Absolutely hopeless and terribly selfish.

Sorry but Anita Dobson was terrible.. wooden acting, like she was reading paragraphs from a book. Never liked her style. She acts likes shes in a comedy too
