Jack does have a stab wound though so surely he can claim self-defence. Even though Jack did initiate the confrontation it's ones word against the other as to who attacked who first.

Carl Rees I like this confrontation as it resembles gang mentality in real life, they can only do anything when in numbers such as (such as 10 to 1), or when holding a weapon, but without either of those things, they can't do anything, which makes their "street cred" all the more laughable, the guy had to resort to using the knife and he still lost, none of them will fight fair anymore. And yeah Jack would probably be able to claim self defence and as he's an ex-copper they are more likely to believe him.
