I HATE the fact that everyone completely forgot he and Danny existed. Alfie came back to the Square five years after leaving (four year since Jake disappeared) with a whole new set of cousins and couldn't be arsed asking anyone where his cousin went. In 2012-ish Phil told Sharon about Dennis' murder but completely ignored the fact that Danny did it, and Jake killed him. I was HOPING that Alfie would find out and set out to find his long-lost cousins, but nope EastEnders writers....what the fuck?!

It’s established during 2006 Jake is still in touch with Alfie and Kat more than once. Makes it a bit weird there’s never any mention of him again from the Moon family but suppose it doesn’t fit the plot of the era.

Jake sadly is the cause of his own possible demise, he was given an out by Sean to pack and leave which he agreed to after getting out witted and beaten. His loyalty and need to run to Johnny is what leaves this ambiguous.
