First cousins once removed. Second cousins would be like Joe and her child or Joe's child and Mary. It's legal even if weird. First cousins share the same grandparents, second cousins the same great grandparents. It's like Lola and Ben Mitchell having a child and being distantly related. Didn't Mary's dad hint that Mark had dodgy intentions towards Mary even though Mary and Mark were also First cousins once removed? And Mark only had a fatherly relationship with her? Kathy and Ben never mention the Hills now although Sarah is Kathy's niece
