Phil and Lisa had an abusive relationship which left her mentally damaged - leading to her shooting him, her took her daughter from her among other things which is why Sharon put the blame on him towards the end.

Really love this scene because it showed all aspects of Phil's character: his vulnerable side when Lisa hit him with the phone, his softer, loving and more caring side when he tended to Louise and was concerned for her wellbeing before the ambulance came, and his darker and more violent side when he threatened to break Lisa if Louise died due to Lisa's mishandling while mentally ill (which Phil didn't seem to care about until Sharon said "now do you really still think that none of this is your fault"). Pity this storyline ended here, as I would have loved to see a bit more of Lisa and the outcome of this, whether she got put in a mental institution or arrested, but I think the former is more likely. Would rather have seen this storyline go on a bit longer rather than see the Mick-Linda-Whitney affair.

I dont care what people think or say but the way Lisa is now is entirely Phils fault people are soo quick to bad mouth her and say shes a nutjob but they are also soo quick to forget the reason why she is that way phil treated her appalingly in the past she really loved him poor girl and he ripped her heart out aswel as ripping out the sanity she once had in her head he was a vile bully to her and yes she shot him and i will never condone that but again curtesy of phil she was unwel the cruel games he played with her the things that he did to her mind oh and another example of phils cruelty towards her remember what he did to her in portugal on that cliff top especially taking her baby away from her like that taking a child away from its mother is just wrong! Stephen oneill true, but the only reason why Phil did this was because she cheated on him with mark flower and never told him. Phil must of felt not wanted, and Phil has issues he can't help to. He had a rough life and his father abused him and a lot more, so phil never really was loved. He had wife's in the past which wasn't very successful, phil became a alcoholic. He had a rough life with Kathy and Ben was taken away from him and he just wanted a child of his own. They went to South Africa and that left phil alone. So phil wasn't a good father because he didn't get the chance to do it with Ben much. Even In walford Kathy had ben all to herself. Since he was only a baby and was about 2 when him and his mother left. Kathy also broke up with phil and chucked her wedding ring into a sea which phil Brought and felt rubbish. He had a hard life in the end with grant to and that's not all, there's way more. She should have never taken Louise out of the hospital, and took away her antibiotics and taking her far. Now what mother does that? I know she's mental but she had years to get a doctor. She let it go to far and went be to walford a place she hates and that's just made her worse. If Phil wouldn't have been there she would of died. She took Louise out of safety, and when Louise was in pain Lisa just kept saying it's alright it's alright. Plus she isn't fit to be a mother because she was gone mental. She couldn't of gone mental just because of what Phil did. It was years ago and she got Louise back, she got a new boyfriend and she seemed ok. I think it's when Louise come back to walford again in 2016 she started to go mental. She even said she was so worried and she went off her medication. Maybe she broke up with her boyfriend and then remembered Phil. Plus I know she shot phil but no matter how much your husband treats you, you don't go and shoot them. She should of got help, and Phil was pretty chilled when he knew she shot him. She should of stayed away and talked to somebody, and if she took her medication she'd of been alright. She's really like this now because she hasn't took her meds and when she was taking them, she must of been alright because she was raising Louise. So I actually think she's always had a mental issue because you can't just get one, you can always have it really. But maybe Phil triggered it, but if she had stayed away and got all the help she would have been fine. She should of put it in the past and took her meds and went to see the doctors causally and talk about her feelings. Because what does she expect to happen? For Phil to go to prison for how he treated her years ago? She's just gonna go to prison or stay in a hospital for doing what she did and came back and not staying away from Phil because now she's made her life even more wreaked for going back again. Plus Phil didn't get Louise back again, Louise came for him TWICE! He knew Lisa wasn't fit and plus don't forget Phil had a terrible life and overthought dangerous things and needed to protect his daughter. Plus Phil went years without his daughter, he just wanted to be a good father in the end and make up for the bad things. But Phils life is really quite depressing and doesn't know how to deal with things easily. (I know this is a soap) so Louise would have ended up dying in pain because Lisa just sat there, and it would of looked bad on her. So now it will look less bad on Lisa so phil kinda saved her to from ending up letting Louise die. And it would of been worse then it already is. Louise was also trying to get her help but she wouldn't let her go and she was burnt!!!!! Louise also wanted her dad and she would of gone back to phil and Sharon if Louise had managed to get help. That just proves Lisa never bothered to get help and stopped when her family members tried to get her help. She would of been ok. And yes again (this is a soap in the end so let's not argue)
