You can tell a lot of Max's anger towards Jim is more from how Jim treated Max's mom. That's the hatred that really sticks in him because he was the son who had to watch his mother in that situation.
@maxbranningfan63246 жыл бұрын
I agree. It also seems Jim always treated Max differently to Jack which caused tension between them as well.

Max Branning Fan Jim was close to Derek and Jack, but he neglected Max, which explains why Max hated him.
@na-z4l6 жыл бұрын
Rory McKernan which is funny given Derek was a gangster and Jim treated Max perhaps the one with the most normal job of his kids like he was a gangster. Jack later told Jim his manipulation and head games are the reason they can't be normal siblings
@rorymckernan5026 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree, Derek was the baddest Branning brother, Jack went into the police force, like you said Jim treated Max like he was the worst child ever. All because max was friends with a black boy. Jack stole his grandad’s war medal and blamed Max, so it seemed Max could do nothing right.

I felt bad for Max when he was arrested for murder. Dot was happy to condemn him along with everyone else and vouch for how right Jim had always been about him even though Jim never denied the terrible things he did to Max as a kid.

Jake Wood is a great actor if any other actor played Max the producers would of axed the character years ago as the character became tired after Tanya left but he even pulled of tripe material given to him post 2012.

When Jim became a softer character with Dot and wasn't as much a racist as he was when befriending Patrick, he started having laughable, humorous moments. But then Max arrived and revealed even further why Jim was a hateful character to start with such as this moment.

I think Dot Cotton has one of the greatest chainsmoking reputations in tv , but I think Max Branning gives her a good run for her money in this scene. It suddenly occurs to me how seldom if ever we got to see Max actually smile in this show. I suppose that would threaten EE's crown as the world's most miserable soap opera. And all the other shows are trying to unseat it from that throne like it's going out of fashion.

Well Jim was like Billy Mitchell. Started off as a wrong un and later became a more softer, lovable character. Only difference is Jim isn't on Wikipedia's list of soap opera villains.
