Karen was wrong to throw Mitch out. She was right in that he wasn't much of a dad over the years. But she was very naive in allowing Gray to dupe her all that time and she and Mitch need each other now.

But Mitch wasn't around okay he did come back and tried to make things right. They both have their faults in certain ways. But Gray is the one who killed Chantelle and was the abuser he was the one to blame for it all.

Whilst that’s obviously unfair, I can understand where he’s coming from in his state of mind and grief. When stuff like this happens we as humans want to rationalize and place blame, whether it be on ourselves or others to make tragedy make sense, when in actuality the fact that it happened at all and people like Gray enter our lives is the only thing at fault.

I agree with Karen and Mitch. Mitch shouldn't of walked out on chantelle and Karen should've listened to Mitch about Gray. However, sadly hindsight is a wonderful thing and even if they did know Chantelle would've begged them to leave Gray alone because she loved him despite his evil ways

Karen kissed Gray's butt always. Even when he did not attend Chantelle's funeral. Gray sneered at Karen and she ignored it every single time and kissed his butt yet again. Karen will have plenty to think about when she's alone now.

While I do blame Karen for always blindly defending Gray, Mitch also never tried to do that much considering how much more he knew, only the occasional minor thing. I'd still put this on Karen a bit more, but both are at fault to a degree. Also... how much is Karen gonna bring up how Mitch had abandoned the family for years? While yes, it was bad, it also feels like she's not willing to listen to anything he says and brushes it all off. All she does is point her fingers, raise her voice, and kick him out to dodge listening to him.

Gray had money and put on a facade. Karen, a mother from a lower class background, who earns little money admired Gray's wealth. So was blinded by it. I think Mitch really wanted to but Karen always guilt tripped Mitch using his past mistakes to put doubt in his mind.

@@CammyTheSportsEntertainer that does make sense, like I imagine that she sees this as Gray being a better father figure than Mitch was, and that Mitch would just damage the family again with his supposed recklessness. If Karen can help it, she wouldn't wanna end up in a life of struggle again, and back then, she had no reason to doubt Gray at all, nothing that she noticed anyway.

@@JinWBO Mitch made alot of mistakes and he had the decency to acknowledge his behaviour. However, Karen constantly bringing it up when Mitch was suspicious of Gray was out of order. To me it felt like Karen didn't care what anyone thought because Gray was rich until Gray himself told her. I personally think it was partly why Chantelle was scared to tell her family. Gray being abusive the main reason. But Karen being Gray's blue eyed golden boy being the secondary reason.

The only person to blame is Gray. Whitney is right no one knew what happened between Chantelle and Gray the truth was hidden. No one wants to believe their daughters husband is hurting her as that's not how it usually happens. Gray is the one who hurt Chantelle he is to blame for all of this and Chantelle even knew that that's why she never told Karen or Mitch

Karen did NOT want to realise what was happening. A broken arm? Bruises? Jumpy? Nervous all the time? And Gray looking down on Karen from his lofty perch as a rich man; Karen then kowtowed to him and acted as if he was her superior. Mitch is right that Karen should have known something was not right. With Keegan bolting too, Karen will be alone as far as adult companionship goes. And she has done that to herself.

@@Borninthe80s. I get that, I do. I know people who've been in abusive relationships. However, Karen really sucked up to Gray because he was rich. That certainly did Chantelle no favours. Chantelle actually once came very close to telling Mitch but didn't in the end. I just don't think Karen would've believed Chantelle. Chantelle dying obviously isn't Karen's fault, Mitch was wrong there. Gray's a POS who's a brutal killer. However, I think Karen was a big detriment if Chantelle had any chance of coming forward. You may disagree and that's fine, it's a matter of opinion. I just don't think Karen helped at all.
