When I was a kid, I used to watch the soaps with my mum, and I always admired Peggy, wanting to be as feisty as her when I grew up. She was, and still is an icon. Goodbye Dame Barbara Windsor. This scene hits hard for me me and my mum lived with my grandad and I remember every night he would switch from watching Eastenders to coronation street and vise Versa when I was little I stopped watching when he died back in 2011 when I was 11 and we had to sell the house in 2013 and now I look back on those times and what I wouldn’t give to be back in that house with him and my mum and my nana and dad watching Eastenders again like when I was little and I say too Peggy and Pat Barbara and Pam thank you for bringing so much joy into my childhood

Very unpopular opinion Sharon Mitchell is the true queen of eastenders shes been in it longer and the vic is her home I never liked her that much before but after watching a few classic episode's and some good recent episodes (boat episode)its apparent that she has always been the heart and centre of eastenders and in interviews seems simply charming.

I think this was a brilliant way to show that sometimes the only way to end suffering especially terminal illness suffering, is to die with dignity. Peggy did. Remember when Dot Cotton helped her friend Ethel die as well when she was really ill. Good writing.
