Interesting thought: Max might have suffered in prison but everyone who put him in jail did suffer eventually while he was inside: Ian suffered trying to hide the truth that Bobby killed Lucy and almost lost his wife and friends in the process. Jane suffered as Bobby almost killed her with a hockey stick, plus lost her ability to walk for a year. Phil started drinking again, had a damaged liver and almost died. So if you think about it, they already had their comeuppance throughout 2016, but guess that wasn't enough for Max.

EastEnders should have done a Max on Remand special episode, and the scene of Phil and Sharon visitng him in prison Including the scene of those prison thugs beating Max up could have been used in it, also would have been an opportunity to see Max hit one of those guys back in a later scene like Phil did with the guys who beat him up. I remember Max saying to Jay that he tried to kill himself after being bullied by the fellow prisoners and suffered daily beatings so no wonder he turned out the way he did, can't help but feel very sorry for Max really despite what he's done.

That's an interesting idea, I don't think it would be worth it just to see Max getting battered but I think it would be worth seeing Max befriend Luke and their relationship inside.
