Minty was a completely different character during his early years when he first came as violent landlord and he was nasty to laura and Janine. But he was Phil's best friend and and a thug henchmen guy. But then Minty got softened I think in 2004. It's similar to Barry early years and the same for Nigel, Stuart, Terry and Billy.
