The single greatest scene in Eastenders history. I remember everyone in my school talking about the previous episodes cliff hanger when Grant is about to get out of the car and he hears “you slept with him” and the ending drum beat. We all thought he was gonna do typical Grant and go in swinging. But this was so much better.

Me and my sister reenacted this from reveal to arches it was so powerful even to hyper kids, i was what maybe 8/9 and she was 5 🤣 i offered to be phil and get thrown down the pit. The pit being off the end of my mums bed. Nobody was hurt cos we were playing at reenacting the scene not fighting.

@@gemmaaboagye8951 so it is ok for Sharon to humiliate Grant but not the other way around? Actions have consequences, it doesn't matter what your gender is. Why aren't you equally disgusted with Phil being humiliated anyway? Because he's a man he doesn't deserve respect? Women who blindly defend other women's disgusting decisions tend to be equally untrustworthy and deceitful. Good luck with that. I truly hope you don't have sons if that's your attitude.

@@jonwiley5549 She didn't look good here as that short hair didn't suit her nor did she look really that good in her 20s or in the 80s. Sharon looked best in her 30s during her 2nd comeback in the 2001-05 era. She was a late bloomer, during the 2005 when Den was murdered I thought she looked really well and had really grown into her looks. I still think Sharon still looks ok, her weight is her biggest issue and always has being but considering she is a middle aged woman in her 50s now I think she looks ok-she's not young anymore remember.

@DeepScreenAnalysis
@DeepScreenAnalysis 14 жыл бұрын
The fallout from this story was epic - not just in the short term, but long term - Sharon was essentially the reason Grant treated Tiffany like crap during their marriage, Phil turned to booze and Kathy finally ditched Walford. Sharon's sins were still impacting Walford long after she left! She was like the other legendary blonde Cindy in that respect - just blowing lives apart around her, however unlike Cindy, Sharon was somewhat oblivious lol.
@shanefolan
@shanefolan 4 жыл бұрын
i don't think Phil turning to booze was a result of this;it was more that Phil always had to be the center of attention and when Ben came he got jealous and bitter that Kathy was giving Ben attention. Plus Grant bullying Tiff bad had nothing to do with this either, he always did that to women from the very beginning, sure he did the same to Sharon. And Kathy left because Phil was a Mitchell-he was going to mess it up regardless, that's what he did.

@@shanefolan A mixture. Sharon cheated because he abused her. He abused Tiffany anyway but it was worse because of Sharon. His wives both tried to leave him because of his he treated them. He was wrong but obviously still got hurt hearing his wife talk about ripping his brother's clothes off. They became brothers again but after grant beat him senselessly. Then grant fell for Kathy years later. Should have stuck to their own wives. Sharon loved grant, it could have worked out if he hadn't humiliated her after the cheating but it was broken

@Mark Lynn Emmerdale's best moments in history was kym related stuff in the mid to late 90s-especially her return from the dead. The Steph Stokes stuff in the mod 00s was really good too. Corrie's was probably Richard Hillman stuff as was the demise of Charlie Stubbs and Tracey in late 2006/early 07 era was really good. I recall the whole nation talking about Charlie. With Eastenders I'd say there's a few to pick from but right up there along with Sharongate would be the kat/zoey reveal in late 2001 and the trevor/little mo stuff. That was epic.

My local station was two years behind the actual show. Some people would tape it and mail it around to friends in other states who didn't get the show.
