Corinne I’m living like that and you can too. My house is still under remodel so it’s not as nice as hers yet but will be this summer. My garden is 10 acres of veggies and flowers and I add new stuff each year. You just take one step at a time and you’ll get there. I’m a disabled Desert Storm Vet so I have to just take on flower bed at a time but it’s getting there and it’s beautiful in the summer!! Folks stop everyday to walk thru it, pick flowers, and talk. It’s a wonderful life, you ought to try it if you enjoy that kind of stuff. If you take it slow like I have and buy the clearance flowers 🌸 and plants for one tenth of normal price, there’s no reason why you can’t have this life and not go into debt to do it. I buy the clearance plants that need a little TLC and once their healthy and beautiful again then I take cuttings from them and propagate new plants and I have more plants than I’d ever need to landscape 10 acres for the price of doing a half acre. Good luck and I hope you can build your magical happy spot like Joanna and I have been able to build, it’s really satisfying and fulfilling!!!

5 kids, a store, a restaurant, a magazine, a bakery, an interior design company, product line AND a garden that looks like that??? Don’t let the “fantasy” fool you. That’s the only issue I have with the Gaines family. She is so talented for sure, but I’m not actually buying they do all this without an ENORMOUS amount of help. I saw the episode where they built that garden. While she was being interviewed about “how much she loves to get outside and work in the garden” someone was in the background actually planting her garden. 🤨 It would just be nice to publicly express gratitude for those helping them from time to time rather than trying to project an image of perfection.

I did a French silk pie! First time ever!! I also made twice baked potatoes and I have to thank you for encouraging me to be creative and use what I have-I didn’t have enough sour cream so I just improvised with cream cheese and whipping cream. They are delicious! We did a carrot cake bread with a cinnamon cream cheese butter cream frosting. So yummy!!

We tried the Hassleback Potatoes. Very good!! Next time I’m going to add a little more salt and green opinions at the end ... and maybe just a touch of rosemary since we have a bush. They go well with BBQ chicken, can’t wait to try them with meatloaf! Great find.
