Marlyn, how long did you let the glue icing dry before moving forward. This Xmas I had a tough time with a project I did that required glue icing. I used super thick icing and I see yours isn't so thick. After your cookie is complete do you find any fragileness (is that a word lol) to the completed cookie due to its glued together? Thanks !!!!

Royal icing is meant to dry hard that is the recipe, the ingredient some add to soften it is glycerin. Other options are using buttercream or glaze to decorate your cookies OR no icing. Check out my Undecorated Cookie series, watch the purse video for all the tips & tricks. If you bake your cookies until chewy not hard then the icing seems to not get too hard in the first 2-3 days the moisture from the cookies seems to help the icing not be rock hard. Try the undecorated my kids LOVE them. Good luck, M
