The hot dog one is also a historical reference, as hot dogs are frankfurter sausages, (or used to be) but during WW2 there was a bit of a campaign to change the public image of the food from being german to american, so they changed the name to be less german hence; hot dog.

I think the Hot Dog joke was meant differently. People from Frankfurt are called Frankfurter but there is also a sausage called "Frankfurter". So beeing a Frankfurter eighter means that you are from Frankfurt or that you are a Hot Dog

You missed a lot Upon being defeated Rudi shouts “Mein Leben” (a nod to the original nazi dying sound in W3d) Hans Grosse is an actual character in The previous wolfenstein game from 2009 and he is based on the original boss from W3d, you can also fight him in this game if you complete all the nightmare easter eggs. The Frankfurter joke has another meaning. A Frankfurter can mean “from Frankfurt” and also is a type of sausage, so BJ saying HotDog actually made sense. In rudi’s room his toilet has pieces of dollars on it. Implying that he hates America so much that he wipes his ass with US dollars XD Also in Rudi’s secret room you can see the helmet to his Power Armor And at the end Fergus says he forgot to take a piss, which is his starting dialogue in the New Order. Also at the end the US military departs from an airport called Kinloss, this is a double easter egg today. For one, it shows us how desperate the US was in this timeline since in real life Kinloss is just an army training airport. Second reason: In the New Colossus (Fergus timeline) Max destroys Fergus’ shirt which he later states he got from Kinloss and i means too much to him. But you still made an amazing video, one of the best about easter eggs in games :D

16:00 Thats actually kind of another easter egg in itself. The sentence written like that makes no sense in german. "ente und decken sich" is technically, translated back to english "duck and cover", however the german word "ente" means the duck, thats sitting on a pond (the one that goes quack quack). The other part "decken sich" translates to something like covering up someone with a blanket. So whats written down in german looks more like a terrible google translation more than anything. you can try it out on google translate too. "ente und decken sich" (in german) becomes "duck and cover" in english. the other german speeches and text are correct, so i think this was a fail on purpose. So they are essentially making fun of marketing companies that suck at translations. im german btw :)

I'm not certain if what i'm about to tell has any merit, but I think that the Greek column with barnacles is (i think) also a reference to a tale of H P Lovecraft called 'The Temple'; It's about a German U-boat with a single survivor (a single survivor due to many a tragedy on board the vessel) that stumps upon an ancient Greek ruin when the submarine is adrift. It's a site where a lot of game/film artists share work, techniques, etc., and I know of a few Machinegames artists that post on there often. 1. The Jaguar's box art merely shows the exact same artwork as the original box art. 2. The end of the loading/intro video for each challenge, actually shows the "Get Psyched" graphic from Wolfenstein 3D - only ing grayscale. 11. The character on the vending machine button, bears even more of a resemblance to Commander Keen - another id Software property. Also: a far more subtle shoutout can be discovered shortly after climbing out of your cell, and before you pick up another weapon besides the pipe you're holding. Upon walking up to one of the generators, you'll notice there are a couple of tools on the ground - a pipe wrench and a crowbar. Tools that just so happen to be the starting weapon for two famous/classic first-person, heavily story based, shooters. Namely, Bioshock (pipe wrench) and Half-Life (crowbar). .

The presence of Dürers "Feldhase" in the came could come from his place of birth. Dürer was born in Nürnberg and one of the most important cities for the Nazi-party was Nürnberg because that was the place of their party meetings (or "Reichsparteitage" in german). The reason that the developers cose the "Feldhase" could come down to the fact that it is one (or even the) most famous painting of Dürer (and afaik/ for me it is/was a big part of art-class and had to be drawn in German schools).

The hot dog joke could also be taken from W3D, where the guards, upon seeing BJ, were originally meant to say "achtung" (German for attention! Or watch out!) But the audio didn't turn out right, so they tried the next best sounding thing, and that was them saying "hot dog!" Instead of achtung! I still chuckle everytime I hear it because that's all I can hear, is the guard saying HOT DOG before I end his pixelated life

I mean "böse Arschloch" (which is grammatically wrong by the way, it should be "böses Arschloch") directly translates to "evil asshole", but i think it wouldn't be that wrong to translate it to "bad motherfucker", or better said: a properly translation of "bad motherfucker" in German could be "böses Arschloch". In Tarantino's Pulp Fiction the character Jules Winnfield, played by Samual L. Jackson owns a wallet with the words "bad motherfucker" written on it

Schweden is decidedly *not* the Swedish spelling of their home country. It might be the German one, though. Notably, the Swedes essentially allied with the Nazis in exchange for not being occupied like their neighbors were. This had several consequences. One, the Nazis benefitted from raw materials and weapons from Sweden. Two, Danish communists, Jews and freedom fighters were able to hide in Sweden during Denmark’s occupation. Arguably if the Swedes hadn’t made that deal then many thousands more innocent Danes would have died or at least been imprisoned. Several covert operations against the Nazis were also organized out of Sweden by those refugees. In any case that’s one theoretical reason for that word to be there.

And the reason which I think is the most likely reason the Iron Helm doesn't have a 15 armor rating is because its a double easter egg, the Iron Helm belonging to Skyrim, as Camel said, and the armor rating of only 11 in The Old Blood references Skyrim's release date, which was 11/11/11

On the graveyard and the names are being all shouted out, Axel T. or Arel T. like you pronounced, isn't spelled wrong. The X is written in germanic old script aand the weathered texture of the stone make it easy to see an R, but its definitely an x^^ If you look at the King Ottos family tree, it says Oddo Rex on the bottom. There you go
