Welcome to the 4th part of my Eastern Roman Empire campaign.
The Western Roman Empire has fallen, but in the East the Eastern Roman Empire lives on and is now on its way to reconquer the lost territories. After the reconquest of Rome, the first priority is the complete conquest of Italy. While we were able to make progress in Italy and stop the Muslim invasion. Now a new and equally dangerous enemy has emerged, India. India is strong and not unwilling to take the first step.

As for the east I would say that you have completely dominated it, the only true threat being the Gupta’s perhaps vassalizing or straight up conquering the west is now top priority

I believe the Roman successor states should be made tributaries to the Empire, in this manner they can be protected, while also nominally maintaining independence while simultaneously strengthening the resurgent Eastern Roman Empire. The Roman people cannot afford to fight among ourselves even if that means divisions of the Empire, it is far more important that these nations are kept alive and the Empire continuous its eastward focus.

My Basileus, You should focus on Conquering the remains of the Sassanids, and you should focus on solidifying the border with Gupta, and even go further then Alexander had done, and conquer, or atleast cripple Gupta to where they can provide no threat to the Roman state.

My emperor. While I do believe revenge against our enemy’s in India is necessary. I do not believe we should run in head first, but instead we should both make plans and setup better defense. We should look for a right time to strike, such as perhaps a “unforeseen succession crisis.” For if they are without a proper ruler they will be sitting ducks. Hail Basileus I notice that with the flowing trade of Constantinople you only keep hold of one province at all times, and keep investing in trade. However my imperator, i would suggest schemes and underhanded means in order to aquire yourself Alexandria, Gizeh, Jerusalem, Ctesiphon and perhaps keeping hold of at least one university site. These provinces provide numerous boosts to your future rulers capabilities and allow you to strengthen your knights and Men-At-Arms. There is more to be had from provinces than just gold. However, as you might be aware, this strategy requires more care when it comes to succession. Since if the primary heir regarding the hereditary inherticance, and the voted inheritor of the Empire title are not one and the same, all your work will have been for naught and one must reaquire all the provinces again.
