0:45 My grandmother came from a tribe, that respected owls. She often told me, that they could see into the soul and react accordingly. If a owl landed on your shoulder, it was a great honor and you were pure. I most def. feel that at this moment, lol.

I rescued one of these last night, found him in the middle of the road, had some head trauma and I had to stay with him all night until the conservancy opened for the day. Conservancy said he should be alright after some time in the incubator and some meds. they’re so cool to see in person and to hold one was the coolest thing ever

They are just darling! I had the pleasure of being able to hold a screech owl while my uncle and I took it to a rehab center. It was sitting on a bird bath in broad daylight, just acting phased. It was stone still and sat there all day like that. I threw a towel over it and picked it up. It was calm all the way to the center, but as soon as I went to hand it to the worker it panicked. It broke my heart. I hope it was released.

I just rescued a little orange/red one from the middle of the road a few days ago! Got it to a rescue and it’s going to be ok from what they can tell. They’re such cool little animals. He seemed so relieved after I got him in a bin in my car. Even sat perched on my arm at one point. Was smaller and probably younger than these ones though so might be why
@marcsalzman80823 жыл бұрын
Shoulda kept him, if he's perched on you so quickly, he trusted you & liked your vibes. I had that w/ a city street pigeon under a freeway overpass & he was close to death. Very young. Nurtured him back to full health & vitality. He wound up back in a green, nice area, raising his own family, after he was with me for a good 6 yrs... There's much more nuance & wild events to his story. A lovely creature & 1 of my Best FRIENDS ever. I'll always love that feisty 🕊️ ... Beautiful soul...

I can't help but come back on this video time and time again to see how extraordinary it is to learn a species of different kinds of birds. And those two owls there need to go back to being lil' eggs coz they too cute to be hatched out here in the real world. And it's super adorable when that grey one turns its head away from the camera and then immediately turns back like "Say what?"

Several folks in the comments talking about rescuing dazed little screech owls, and how calm and sweet they were on the way to the Dr. We rescued a very angry little fellow that snapped at us, and dug his talons in my husband’s belly roll! They kinda sound like high pitched monkeys going crazy. People not from the country or smaller suburbs are terrified when they hear these things, which I can’t blame them. If you didn’t know it were these tiny little birds, it’d scare the Hell out of anyone, hearing this coming from the woods at night.
