As a convert to the Coptic Orthodox Church, I've become accustomed to the Coptic Mass, thus, the Armenian Mass is strikingly different. The Armenian Mass reminds me of the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) of the Roman Catholic Church.

Like in any other Orthodox Church, to take Communion in the Armenian Church one must be either baptized in our church, or belong to any of the Oriental Orthodox family of churches.

I have a question. I am dating an armenian gentleman, and his family invited me to come to an armenian church for christmas. I am a protestant christian. Can I receive communion? My boyfriend said that I can, but I just wanted to be sure since I do not want to offend. I am a stranger to the ways of the armenian church.

don't be strange ...it's the apostolic church ...church which was bukid with the blood of jesus and others who died for him...it's soo correct than any protestant ....

You cannot receive communion in Roman and Orthodox churches, because: 1- Protestantism is a heresy. 2-You have to confess your sinners before. But calcedonian churches are schismatic. (Sorry for my english)

All who are baptised by the holy catholic and apostolic church. Generally speaking, you dont need to being your baptism to each service and ive never seen every single attentee receive it.

I view the Assyrian, Oriental and Eastern Orthodox Catholic Christian Churches as being sister Churches in the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I am a Roman Catholic Christian. I think of the Eastern Christians as brethren who are, on paper, separated canonically, but who are de facto part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic orthodox Christian Church. They are particular Churches whose canonical situation is sadly irregular, so intercommunion, for the most part, does not exist. But I believe they are legitimate Churches of God, with Apostolic Succession, valid Clergymen, valid Sacraments/Mysteries, and holy Liturgies, Devotions and spirituality, and orthodox doctrine. And in fact this is the official view of the Catholic Church with regard to the separated Eastern Churches. Lastly, if you read the documents from the Phanar representing the highest authority in Eastern Orthodoxy and the Pope of Alexandria representing the highest authority in Oriental Orthodoxy, it is clear the Orthodox view the Catholics as sister Churches with true Apostolic Succession, clergy, and Sacraments. The animosity and accusations of heresy come from uneducated and overly zealous converts who haven't read the documents of intereligious and ecumenical dialogues of their own Churches - or from disobedient fundamentalist zealous who condemn and even are condemned by their very own Church hierarchies, like the schismatical monks of Esphigmenou on the Holy Mount or "true orthodox" schismatics. Both of the Armenian Catholicos' celebrated a Divine Liturgy in the Roman Catholic Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and Pope Francis celebrated a Catholic Mass at an Armenian Church on an Armenian altar after declaring the Armenian St. Gregory of Narek a Doctor of the Catholic Church. And the Pope and Catholicos' both referred to each other as sister Churches while celebrating Liturgies at each others altars. Those who fight against dialogue and reconciliation of the holy Churches of God are, in fact, fighting against Christ himself who desires us all to be One, even as He and the Father are One.
