This is GoPro video of a walk through of the Eastfield Mall in Springfield MA, a few weeks before the doors close forever. At time of posting this video, the mall is 90% demolished and little more than a memory.

Crazy to think that everything you see in this video is gone.......all of the historic architecture has been destroyed forever. I can hardly look at the interior pictures I took over the summer, it bothers me that much

I hear you. Fortunately there are a lot of photographs (at least from the later years)...

If you go through the "Dead Mall" genre on KZbin, even days before the doors closed, this was still better looking on the inside than most of them that are still doing a pretty good business. Layout and looks wise, I think up to the end it had Holyoke and West Farms beat in that department. Holyoke always reminds me of the Indiana Jones warehouse. But, "Commerce" is the only thing that counts and this place wasn't cutting it. Not sure if you've even been up to that outside outlet mall in Lee, Mass. off the Mass Pike. That place is circling the drain. Upscale outlet stores in a setup that looks dead is not an incentive to shop.

I have heard of those outlets in Lee, but have never been to them. From my experience, "outlets" really don't have much (if any) price advantage.

@@RocketRoberts Yeah. You go once or twice and think "Where's the bargains?" I was last in Lee last April. Bought some Sketchers. Walked around and most places I had no interest in at any time and the food court was working it's way to sketchy. If you look at the still images on Google Maps, most images are from 2017, 18 + 19. Obviously COVID, but there's very few from the last 4 years and hundreds from the 201Xes. The place was also cheaply built. In more than one spot the stucco was letting go. Not big chunks, but spots here and there. One of those once seen can't unsee things.
