This is a deep concern for me, but not as broad as all cults. There's an alarming trend of members of the LDS church who are doing this shit and I think it's a bigger issue than people are realizing. To this day the Mormon church STILL has not released a statement disavowing Chad/Lori's beliefs OR Jodi Hildebrandt and Ruby Franke. It took too long to excommunicate Chad and Lori, and Jodi/Ruby are still members of the church. Jodi is discussing her Patriarchal Blessing on her jail calls and Ruby is receiving visits from her Bishop. I do not know what if any consequences the Thibaudeau's are facing, but thank goodness they were stopped at the Alaska/Canada border because I firmly believe that 16 year old child would have not be found alive. These people are all in different states but appear to have similar delusions of grandeur with a strong emphasis on demons and the end times. I grew up LDS, I lived through the panic hoarding of Y2K, but these cases are unlike anything I've ever heard of before. The fact that it hasn't been immediately addressed by the church is only proving to the world that they are complicit.
