@Mira Damevska Unfortunately, we can not say his death was planned by himself or by others given the Medical Examination Report. He died of Deep Vein Thrombosis, clot(s), that traveled up likley from his leg(s)& through the heart and into the lungs causing a Pulmonary Embolism. PE's don't kill everyone this happens to, it depends on the size of the clot(s) & any history of cardiac or respiratory compromise. To our knowledge, there's no way to induce this occurring in any type of time frame as its based on lifestyle & propensity to have an abnormal PT INR.

I am listening from the UK and appreciate the quality of the East Idaho News's coverage. Nate is an impressive and professional reporter. I do not have to contend with constant interruptions / advertisements because I downloaded Brave to my mobile phone and then searched for KZbin within the Brave app. This filters out advertisements very efficiently. As for the competency or otherwise of the defence counsel and judge, I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. Lori's actions are indefensible so the defence is left clutching at straws. Meanwhile, the judge knows that he must do the best he can in difficult circumstances to not give grounds for a mistrial or an appeal. My greatest concern is that the trials of Lori and Chad were separated. This appears particularly cruel to the bereaved and grieving relatives and friends who had the misfortune to be part of the lives of Lori and Chad. The emotional toll on the forensic experts, police and FBI who will thus be compelled to give the same evidence twice, should also have been considered before separating the trials. My final thought is how easy it is for either narcissists or vulnerable people to slide from mainstream religious beliefs into the realm of fantasy by putting their faith into other fallible human beings. If there is a higher power who, in some way, for some reason, takes an interest in the lives and actions of human beings, would it not be safer for each of us to draw our own conclusions on this matter, rather than swallow, hook, line and sinker, the insane and inane ramblings of other flawed human beings claiming variously to be delivering the word of God or are themselves part of the Godhead. Every organised (and societally accepted) religion I know of, provides its more instrumental and/or psychologically unstable followers with an effective means of gaining status and power over others.
@awright119021 Жыл бұрын
When it comes to separating the trials, it had to be done unfortunately. No one wanted it to happen, except for the defense, but legally the judge's hands were tied. Lori refused to waive her right to a speedy trial and was already well overdue for it to start. Chad waived his right and there was new evidence they claimed they needed to test which pushed his trial back again. Since Lori's couldn't be pushed back and Chad's had to be, there was nothing the judge could do except separate the trials.
@tammyirwin703 Жыл бұрын
@@awright119021let’s not forget that Lori herself played a huge part in it being past the time for a speedy trial due to her mental health. I believe she was playing the court system game and her attorney’s knew exactly how to play their cards just right to get the DP off the table for her.

@RuthOrange I appreciate your thoughts. I agree with you regarding the judge and defense attorney. They are doing their jobs, not displaying personal opinion. The judge is adhered to "rule of law" and doing his best to make sure it is applied to both parties. No matter how sure you are that she is dripping and wallowing in guilt, the basis of the US criminal court says "innocent until proven" and that the accused has the right to effective legal representation. The defense team HAS TO make every effort to poke holes in testimony and introduce doubt. I have friends, the parents of high school chums, who were brutally killed during a home invasion in the late 80s. The trials of the 3 perpetrators were separated and yes, it is brutal to sit through multiple rehashings and multiple defense teams. What an education! Only one of these men received the death penalty, which has been overturned on appeals and re-sentenced to the same conclusion three more times. It's taken years and we have been present for every single day of courtroom testimony. Over the decades, witnesses die and memory fades. Prior testimony of deceased persons may be read into record but they are only allowed as dry, emotionless readings by random court personnel. The governor of our state recently reversed all death penalty sentences before she left office, a gift to her own personal views. Still not willing to accept a life sentence, the murderer of my friends has been granted yet another trial hearing, claiming now that each of his prior 4 trials and each of his prior defense teams amounted to "ineffective representation" , else he would not be in prison. He still claims innocence (his codefendants admit guilt) and a preponderance of evidence leaves no doubt in my mind (nor the minds of 4 separate juries) yet here we are. I hope now that all the times I got mad at judges or attorneys for arguing or ruling in his favor will be enough to justify his very adequate defense. You have to be able to listen to and consider the defense's role and argument to strengthen and remove all doubt of a guilty conclusion. That is the hard task of a juror.

Did they think Kay and Larry would just be ok with never speaking to him again?? Lori knows them better than that. They loved that boy with all their hearts, they would never just sit back and be ok with never seeing him or speaking with him again. And Tylee was giving Colby money a lot of the time. Do they think people would be ok with never seeing these kids again with no explanation? I know she tried to play it off like she had them in "hiding" or that Tylee was at college or whatever but people would want to see them again at some point. She couldn't just explain their disappearance away forever! Social security would need to see her again to keep getting her SS money. They were sure to be caught eventually. I wonder if Chad wouldn't have eventually killed Lori and moved on to another woman? I thought it was pretty telling that they gave the DNA Lab Specialist Melanie Gibb's DNA profile. I swear she knew more than what she let on. Not that she killed them but she knew more imo.
