I bought the 505 for some years ago and love it. In the wintertime it can get really troublesome at the 10th fret e-string. So they are sensitive to the dry air in cold countries (writing from Norway). And yes i use a humidifier during this period of the year, but it normally gets well again in spring.

I miss Eastman necks. I’m thinking of unloading my great sounding but flat fingerboard for that Eastman radius 😵‍💫

I'll only buy A styles because they offer more quality per $$. Heck, for the price of a nice Chinese F model, you're now in the range of a used Gibson A9.

Something you forgot to say about this model. The thickness (depth)of the body. Significantly thicker compared to a F style

The body depths & dimensions are actually the same between the two styles!

@@AcousticShoppe No sir they're not. Just measured them with micrometer. At the middle of the F hole. 1.9+ in for the 505 and 1.7 in for the 315. check it out, compare them back to back. The 505 is thicker.

I live in Canada and bought one. The pin at the bottom of the instrument which holds the strap on fell off shortly after I got it. I had to ship my mandolin back for repairs. Very disappointing
