What a same this great song will never get any air play. It's to original and doesn't fall into the cookie cutter mold of today's country, where EVERY top 40 song is about nothing more than stopping out mud holes in your boots, pouring something down your throat out of a solo cup after your done bailing hey..

It plays on the station I listen to in Connecticut relatively often. I can't put into words how amazing this song in and the attention it deserves. This is the good ol' George Strait style country. The good thing about poppy new country is that it makes songs like this, and artists like Easton, that much more appreciated by original country fans. Not that I dislike pop-country by any means - it's catchy and has it's place, but it lacks substance and originality like you mention.

Can't wait for this album to be released. Corbin is one of the only COUNTRY artists out there. Not only that but with Strait retiring we lost another country great. Corbin luckily sounds a lot like Strait and hopefully will get as much respect as Strait has now, one day. Traditional is up to the fans to keep it going.

this song has been off the charts for months, man. some stations pick certain songs that previously charted to play often for a couple weeks then you will never hear it again, which is probably why you are hearing Clockwork alot on your local radio station.

I want to thank country radio for killing this song too: this week we lost "I Got A Car" by George Strait (wich is slowly falling down the charts) and "Clockwork" (that fell from #33 to #41), while we have tyler farr at #2 with whiskey in my water, bartender by lady antebellum at #12, brantley gilbert at #15 with small town throwdown also featuring the terrible thomas rhett (whose it goes like this and get me some of that reached #1), and the fucking chase rice at #21 with ready set roll. I hate country radio, they're the reason why country is dying. Easton Corbin is the most traditional hitmaker right now, but him losing this song scares me. I'm truly hoping his label will hold on to Easton. #boycottCountryRadio
@wvbackcountry9810 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I just hate how bullshit music like all you listed or poppy bullshit like Luke Bryan is all that gets played. It's ridiculous. Another good couple songs being stalled or killed by radio is Like A Cowboy by Randy Houser & What I Can't Put Down by Jon Pardi. Yet that Beachin' bullshit or everything about beer on your tailgate goes #1.
@elkanah5610 жыл бұрын
Amen
@bradpaisley9610 жыл бұрын
Branson Mathess yeah right, like a cowboy is a great song and since randy houser has had 3 stronger singles (that I personally don't like) before that I think it will reach a good point on the charts. If it doesn't then country music is screwed. I mostly agree about luke bryan, but I don't think he's the worst. sure his song that's my kind of night was lame and 95% of his songs is like "hey girl, you're so pretty in your cutoff jeans, so climb up in my truck, let's go down some dirt road to see the stars and drink some beer", but I give some credits to him for the song "Drink a Beer". The problem is with these newcomers! I mean, once people complained about Kenny Chesney not being country! now we got this Cole swindell who came out with a pop song with a banjo, chase rice puts out edm shit and thinks he's so country because he talks 'bout moonlight, that other stupid Thomas rhett and his fucking wannabe should disappear as fast as they arrived. and Jason aldean records rock and rap songs and call them country. I'm tired of them, I miss back when Alan Jackson was coming out the radio with That'd be Alright, when Travis Tritt sang 'What Say You' and Tim McGraw ruled the charts with 'for a little while", "one of these days", "just to see you smile" and "when the green grass grows" , while randy travis touched my heart with 'spirit of a boy, wisdom of a man'. now I can't help but wonder why Alan Jackson stopped releasing singles since "you go your way" barely cracked top 40 (and the answer may be "country radio don't care about alan anymore"), why Travis Tritt is not releasing new music and where are Clint Black and Josh Turner now
@sierradane10 жыл бұрын
I know I CANNOT stand the song "Ready, Set, Roll." I am not liking how rap keeps creeping into country music which should include some fiddles, banjos, steel guitars to name a few. George Strait actually had a song in the 90's I think about how someone murdered Country Music.
@bradpaisley9610 жыл бұрын
sierradane (preluding that ready set roll should disappear from our world) yeah George Strait and Alan Jackson had a great duet called "murder in music row". but it was never released as a single because country radio was already corrupted: think of shania twain and her terrible dance pop music with a steel! it charted due to unsolicited airplay and I think it reached #38. lots of radio stations played it a lot everyday and made a hit out of it, but the other radio station didn't dare to touch that song

Easton, where's the fiddle and steel? I remember seeing you with my girl at Bluebonnet Palace near San Antone; you pointed to me while I was singing the words to the Hag song you played. You were real country. You were one of my new favs. I was about to comment elsewhere how another artist reminded me of you and Craig Campbell, but now I see you are not the new King (Strait) after all. I understand that real country can't come back, but I would think that staying true to it would still garner more fans than forsaking those that made you, and sounding like... just be another Kevin Fowler, you'll make a living that's true and happy.
