It did a pretty job with the 6-way. I have a 12-22 coming in October.

That splitter is a beast, I like the way you run another piece of wood behind a chunk that is hard to get off the wedge it just slides through

That red oak seems nice and stringy, hardly any knots. Do you have any old single or double bit axes? Do you hand split smaller rounds for kindling or anything?
@WilliamsonRidge4 жыл бұрын
I don’t really do anything by hand if I can keep from it lol. If I need kindling I just resplit with the EastonMade until it’s small enough.

I've watched a lot of videos showing the Eastonmade splitter. It appears to me that the 6-way works great for 20" or so rounds. If you get above that then appears that the box wedge is the way to go. Is this correct? It seems that the larger round requires a lot of re-split with the 6-way. Thanks for sharing.
@WilliamsonRidge4 жыл бұрын
Yeah you still have to handle the rounds quite a bit when they get that large. The box wedge would make it so once you got it on the splitter you just run it till there’s nothing left
@larrysutton65304 жыл бұрын
It seems like the only reason it had any problems was because of a knoty piece and then it was minimal
@WilliamsonRidge4 жыл бұрын
Yeah that one piece had a good knot in it and it did get close to it’s limit but once it separated it went right on through
