Amazing! I like seeing how artists use everyday objects to create the effects like the paper to scrape away the paint, gives it a fire or mountain appearance. Love it!

Yes. While the technique itself may be fairly basic, it requires the artist to already have the finished piece visualised before spraying down the first colours, since it's really flying by the seat of the pants working this way. That's where the genius comes into the process.

what? the fire? I think he was both evening out the gloss layer he just put down before that, and setting the paint. I dont think that was just for show. If the gloss is not glass smooth, then it will make the picture look cheap. But thats just a guess.
