My grandma used to do her hair like this. She died last year and it was one of my few memories of her. And weirdly you look just like her in her younger pictures expect she had gray eyes. Like it’s uncanny. This video is like looking at my grandma’s old photos come to life and brought a smile to my face. Thank you.

Can you please explain or make a video about the differences and similarities between a pin curl, hot roller, and sponge set.....that would be so helpful for beginners.
@Elemiriel7 жыл бұрын
Yes! And talk about a wet set too!!!
@MissBeeTownsend7 жыл бұрын
You mean, rather than the individual ones I've already got showing how to do it, you just want me to explain in one video how they differ and the best situation or style to use each method for? A bit like my 'essentials for the vintage girl' video? I was thinking of doing a video about setting patterns, and which way to roll for certain outcomes, so maybe they would go well together...🤔

MissBeeTown Yes, was wearing this when I was 13 ~ eee gads! Think my school picture 📷 I'm wearing this hair style ~ complete with a large bow on top {watch some " "Hullabaloo" or "Where the action is" it was TV shows in the afternoon} I'd send a link but most people links are sent to spam. You'll get some real feel of the dances 💃and hair that was so high {called beehives} that the girls ~ including my cousins had to lean backwards to get into the car 🚗 😂😂😂 We are talking some SERIOUSLY Heavy ratting of hair! Looks good from the front, but god help you if you saw 👀 it from behind 😱

MissBeeTown p.s. This style suits You
@MissBeeTownsend7 жыл бұрын
Haha! Oh wow! I wish I could have seen it! That's the problem, pics are from the front, for obvious reasons, so it is difficult to see how people did the back of their hair (I'm talking everyday because, let's face it, not everyone has time to look like a Hollywood star everyday). I will check out those shows you mentioned!

I love your channel! And I´ve really enjoyed this ,since it seems there are few 60s hair setting pattern tutorials on KZbin.. I guess I picked a difficult decade for my vintage lifestyle XD PLEASE , Please make the video on this this hairdo, only with the flipped ends!! I´ve tried and failed to do this kind of hair and it would be smashing to have an actual demonstration, rather than a confusing setting pattern on it´s own.. THX (:

Ok! I’ll make sure to keep up with 60s tutorials as well as the popular 40s and 50s ones. I feel there is a huge amount of 40s style ones touted as 50s but really, even “pin up” hair is largely based on 40s techniques. I’m trying to fill some gaps on here so thank you for the feedback! Xxx

MissBeeTown Normally I do not brush it after I wash it/ let it air dry. It'll stay okay curly until day 3 THEN I have to braid/ oil/ messy bun it down and even then frizz everywhere. It's why I love vintage styles because on my days off it looks pretty. I'm a nurse so I have to wear my hair up 9-17 hours a day so it's hard to manage. I break an elastic every 1-2 weeks... :(

Thank you ❤️ I love this top! But, sadly, you're not the first to ask, and it is vintage so your search may have to continue. But check out the Celina Top by Collectif, the Wrap Top by Miss Fortune, the Malia Top by PUG, the Dita Teese Red Pinup Top by Voodoo Vixen, the Odessa Top, Scarlet Top, Elena Top (and many more) by Top Vintage xx

Could you share how you prep your hair for both a wet set and a hot roller set? My hair falls as soon as i step out of the door. I have stubbornly straight thick hair so the combination of the lack of curl and the weight mean it never lasts more than an hour. I've tried liquid setting lotion, mouse, and cream but i don't know what quantities to use ect. I either use too much or not enough, and blasting it with hairspray just makes it fall straight away. I've tried all the methods of using hot tools (rollers, pincurls with tongs ect) and they drop. And wet sets always come out frizzy. My hair used to curl slightly because i dyed it all the time, but now it's virgin hair and really healthy, it won't do a thing. Thanks so much for the videos you do share with us, keep them coming, girl!

Have you watched my wet set and hot roller set tutorials? They include how I prep my hair. Mostly I use watered down hairspray or sugar water setting lotion I make myself.

Love your tutorials! But...I wish you could use vintage mood music! The contemporary stuff, being anachronistic, is rather jarring.
