This video shows a typical radio activation for Parks on the Air. I am using a FT-891 and a vertical antenna. #HamRadio #AmatureRadio #Pota #ParksOnTheAir #KJ7IAZ

You gotta try out some headway lithium cells. 4 in a series will outlast that AGM by 5 fold and its a fraction of the weight.

Looks like fun man. I really want to try pota and sota. I'd like to check out your logging software and possibly a link to your antenna.

The logging software I use for pota is called hamrs check it out. It works great for pota, as it as a specific log for pota. The antenna is just a truck mirror mount, and a mfj 17ft whip. Nothing too special. I bought mine with a so239 on top and bottom, so I could use it with my atas120. I use a so239 to 3/8x24 adapter and coupler to fit the whip or hamsticks, etc.

Your little antenna graphic is a hoot.. Instead of wing nut connection.. consider alligator clips .. the big ones to your radials.. also a 36 x802 piece of window screen works just as well as all the wire for radials.. And it won be long till that Stacy under your nose is a full “Handlebar”. 🤪😜😎 Nice video

36 X 84 piece of window screen.. Rolls up nicely, and no knots either!

Haha I know, keeping it simple if you know what I mean. I have a pile of clips too. Although it's a 40m dipole too.

I'll have to try that, it'll work fine. It seems to be all the rage lately.
