Ever try white vinegar? Supposed to work good. Cheap too.

Remarkable !!! How you remove the rust isn’t the key. The key is in your skill set to acquire the finished end. Bob

Best I have ever used. Especially being able to reuse it which cuts the cost. No harsh smell either.

Hi Keith, I have been using Evaporust for years on everything. I live in Florida. I love it, great find. New to your channel and love it too.

Is evaporating safe for preserving the etching on vintage hand saws? Thanks for the video and info.

That's how I do it. If you are patient you can get the Evaporust 20% off at Harbor Freight when they have their coupon specials.

Wish you would have put out this video a few weeks ago. I was going to restore an old Stanley plane and put all metal pieces in a rust remover I used last year when getting rust out of a gas tank. The blade came out all pitted and now useless. And worse the body of the plane looked like "snakes" of missing metal. I watched about an eighth inch come off just with a gentle scrub. Next time I will use evapo-rust

How did you create your lapping station and how often do you change the sandpaper?

That rebate plane is beautiful as is the ole' #5. That stuff works pretty good. I'll have to pinch my pennies and give it a go when I have another plane or old tool find.
