We have seen how we can derive all the different forms of the verbs from 3 root letters. In Arabic we can also form many categories of ISM also from 3 root letters.
The derived nouns are called الأَسْمَاءُ الْمُشْتَقَّةُ in Arabic.

In this lesson we will introduce the easy Arabic grammar for the derived nouns and some of the most common categories.

Walikumsalaam The Madina books are an excellent series which I have also studied. Students are welcome to follow that series and al-humdulillah huge amount of free resources are available online for everyone. I will not be able to use the madina books as sheets as I am not following the same order of subjects and in most cases contents. So it is difficult to find direct corresponding lesson notes which will match my lessons. I do however always encourage everyone to study as many courses as they can or want, each one will teach them something of value

This will be covered in detail in later lesson. fa'il - is the doer of the verb it can be a any noun or pronoun Ism fa'il - is the derived noun from the root letters

Most verbs are like fataha , kataba but some have a kasra or damma on the seconds letter why are they not all like fataha for example saMIa , kaRUma and not saMAa or kaRAma and how do I know when they are like that? And if they are in mudaria the letter stays always like this?

You have to look in the dictionary to know the pattern of verbs from roots, there are no rules as to which root follows which pattern

I have a question. How do i say Muhammad is the teacher in arabic? Know that the predicate is definite. If it was indefinite then you will say مُحَمَّدٌ مُدَرِّسٌ Muhammad is a teacher, but now it is the teacher not a teacher. So can you please tell me the answer?

you can do this by putting a pronoun in between حامدٌ هو الْمَعَلِّمُ Hamid is the teacher (Literally Hamid, he is the teacher). This also created emphasis in the meaning. This subject has been covered in one of the lesson videos

I am sorry it is difficult to give detailed answers this way, there are a number of issue here that would take pages of notes to explain. Insha'Allah once you are familiar with ALL the rules related to Jumlah Ismiyyah and Descriptive Phrases you will be able to see that there are number of possibilities and understand better. For now all I can say is "مُحَمَّدٌ المُعَلِّمُ" - this is descriptive Phrase - not a sentence - it would normally translate as 'Muhammad the teacher'

@@TheLanguageofQuran I forgot ask you about Demonstrative Pronouns. If i want to say: ''this is the school''(school is definite) How do i say it? Must i also put a pronoun in between? So the right answer will be ''هذه هي المدرسة '' or can i just say هذه المدرسة? So witch one is the right one?

I think am confused, maybe بَدَل has to do something with this. So if i say هذه المدرسة will that be بَدَل? And the translation will be ''this is the school''. So that means هذه هي المدرسة wil be wrong?
