Love this guide and so easy to follow and understand. If you are going magicka, something I recommend for higher DPS is instead of Flail, morph to Tentacular Dread as this ink debuff strength is increased by a further 6%. So what you do is use runeblades as your spammable, cast it 3 times, then use Tentacular Dread to debuff, then runeblades 3 more times to build crux and then use Fatevarver.

Yeah thanks! I tested a lot with Tentacular Dread and it isn't as strong or as simple, but the opening burst is absolutely crazy. Perhaps I can recommend it as a dungeon build, where fights are so much shorter.

Yeah like I said it's nice that the build lets us run whatever we want on the front bar. That's a deliberate choice. I always play melee wherever possible (that's how groups maximise their effectiveness) so Daggers pose no issue for me. But if people are unused to playing melee then I can see why they might accept the damage loss.

Great build. Just one note, if someone uses Pillars of Nirn could use Rune of Displacement instead of Fulminating Rune as opener in trash fights. Because PoN will proc on the target the Rune is, the moment everyone across 7m radius is dragged into the rune. Also either rune used as opener, allows to target the Pillars of Nirn, otherwise it will hit some random trash mob in the Deadly Cloak aoe which will die instantly before the set works fully having it on cooldown on long trash fights. Against dummy doesn't matter what to use, as there is only 1 target.

Thanks for the comment and the fun theorycrafting! Keep in mind this is an old video so there have been quite a few tweaks since then. Sadly most of us can’t use Nirn in trash because the adds don’t (or shouldn’t last long enough for the proc to deal much damage. Maybe if you’re soloing dungeons or something like that. But in boss fights with literally only one target it’s still great.

Yeah it totally is. One factor is that Dual Wield passives are just so nice (which affects all classes) and another is the way the Flail works, which generally makes it more valuable than Tentacular Dread. But I will keep testing!

Perfected makes no difference on the daggers, so no worries there. You can use a Maelstrom Inferno on the back bar if you have that - it’s actually a bit stronger than the daggers but the rotation isn’t as easy.

It gives you time to hit with the daggers too, and if you do it at what point of the rotation, I'm training it and it goes very well, there is one thing that happens to me when I throw Fulminating rune automatically jumps me Rune fire of the guild of magicians :) . Nothing that would line up as perfectly. Just keep farming it. On normal it’s pretty quick and fun on the arcanist.. but if you have axes or maces or swords of black rose. Run that in the meantime the crit from the daggers is not the most important thing in the build especially since it’s back bar.

Exactly what jemanuelviera said - just use whatever BRP DW weapons you've got, and try to get back there now and then until you get all the drops you need. You could always try the Maelstrom Inferno, which is technically stronger anyway - the rotation is just more complicated. Good luck!

Yes you STILL want to land as many Light Attacks as possible. Not for damage (which is super low with the Mythic) but to proc your glyphs and generate ultimate a bit faster. Hope that helps!

You mention tracking off-balance on top parses... is there some hidden interaction going on here? Afaik off-balance just increases heavy attack damage and resource return.

It's the Exploiter passive, which is used by almost every DD in optimised conditions (i.e. good trial groups and on the dummy). Since the Arcanist is SO bursty you can actually gain a fair bit of DPS by timing the burst to coincide with Off Balance. Many players aren't even aware of this, and even fewer will want to actively track the debuff, which is why I sort of discounted it from the static rotation here. Hope that clarifies things.

You cannot use Relequen with the Arcanist because of the proc condition. Re-read the tooltip for the set if you're not sure what I mean. But yes you can swap other sets around. Currently the meta is Riptide paired with Niro/Deadly/Azureblight.

I get a lot more dmg if I cut Depths set for Deadly. So I use Medium armor on magicka. It’s about +/- 6k dps for me. And if I use Velothis it’s same dps. I dunno why. But in Blackwood I did 120k dps, now 80-90k. Weird game rn

Not sure why you’d ‘cut’ Depths for Deadly when you can just run them both. That’s what I recommend in this video and it’ll get you to 120k very easily if you follow the rotation. Good luck!

I explain all this at 1:35. Inferno back bar is stronger, but hitting 129k also requires tracking Off-Balance, Heroism potions, a dynamic rotation and other stuff that many players won't do. It's not just about the back bar. This rotation is SO much easier, which is why most players will get better DPS with it. Inferno setup is fun too - especially in short fights like dungeon bosses it really slaps. Use whatever you prefer 😎.

You don’t need Riptide at all. In fact, I specifically recommend Deadly + Whorl as an easier/safer setup here. I only got 2k more DOS with Riptide, and it’s a lot more hassle in content.

Deadly + Whorl is the setup I recommend here. Riptide is just a bonus choice if you want more damage. The thing is it works brilliantly in highly organised groups where everything is consistent and predictable, but it's not so great in impromptu trials.

currently leveling the arcanist, 38 atm, yet I wonder how coral riptide will work since I don't even come close to half stamina. prolly on a high hp enemy, but so far I never had problems.

For Riptide to work, you need to manually dump all your Stamina before the fight even starts. If you’re an experienced player it can be a fun little extra challenge to monitor resources during combat, but the DPS gain isn’t that big. I know many players who never bother with the Riptide mini game, but some players love it.

I was trying to play this but someone whispered me in My dungeon and said you need to build crux with runebuilder 3 times and tentacle 3 runes and then beam. Why do we not do this with this build?

Hey! The reason I don’t build crux with runeblades is because that is not the most efficient way to build crux, plus runeblades don’t do great damage. You only need 3 crux for the most effective beam. You get 1 just from having inspired scholarship active when you beam and then 2 more from 2 casts of tentacles. That’s three! Your beam is now ready! Yeah you’re right about the weights, but feel free to mix it up in content. That’s part of the attraction of having both Light and Medium sets in the setup. Ideally you want the 5-piece bonus from Deadly to be active at all times and not go away when you bar swap (Whorl is fine because it’s a proc - activate it every 18s and you’re done). But if you’re short on materials, putting Deadly on the front bar isn’t the end of the world either.

Good question. My guess is, still not good enough to replace the top tier sets. Runecarver is all about layering lots and lots of fast-ticking DOTs, and this setup only has two of those.

sorry but what exactly is static about this rotation? its a cool and simple setup but in my mind, static means you follow a consistent rotation so you re-cast every x seconds a skill always in the same rythm. this here is a AT BEST hybrid styled roation as not even the beam is cast in a rythm ( speaking as necromancer every 2 abilities you cast a bb again 2 abilities,m bb and so on, most classes have 100k+ rotations like that) seems like since the hybrid update guides are not anymore the same speaking about magicka setups, nearly identical skills as stamina, static means nothing, everyone fighst in melee range because daggers are must have and so on. guess i stick to my sorc the only class that seems to be able to hit hard with a real static roation while using 2x inferno stave.

The fact i have yet to pass 30k dps on any of my toons (All maxed in all classes) shows im not cut out for high dps in this game. haha, i cant fathom how people get 50k+ dps even when i have the same gear, i think my mind cant master rotations well

It’s actually easy. Cast your buffs, throw down your aoes, cast your spammable until you need to reload. The concept is to Jew your buffs and aoes up at all time so you are always dealing damage and then your spam while your wait to reapply. Takes practice but I think that’s what a lot of ppl don’t understand about a rotation. There’s a meta sure, but understanding that rotation concept allows you to build and play any style with any skills you want barring they synergy

pvp gear and trial gear, yes easily obtainable. Bethesda does the best job at making crafting useless.

Yes, ZOS has a rule about the best-performing sets being generally harder to obtain, but that makes total sense to most players. Also the differences are VERY slight and to be honest these sets are still super easy to get (you can even buy Deadly from traders). What a bunch of pretentious convoluted nonsense this game is. It's for nerds interested in minutiae, not real gaming. Who wants to waste all their time building up a toon ? How about the devs giving us some good dynamic combat skills ? Standing still in front of an enemy rotating your bars is mindless.

The combat in ESO is the main reason why so many people stay in this game. You can go as dynamic as you wish. Have you actually tried standing still in fight? It’s not advisable and tends to lead to death. 💀

Would you prefer difficult rotations? I have plenty of those too! They’re just not very popular because the players who thrive on complexity and optimisation already know most of this stuff and don’t need me to explain it.
