I make a weeks worth of PB&J and stick them in the freezer. Key is to use good bread and put peanut butter on both sides. My family loves them and saves me so much time.

Shelly Stephan yes!! I second this!! When I was a kid we used to be able to buy frozen yogurt tubes at the cafeteria and all the kids (I’m talking even middle school aged) would go crazy for them and when we packed mine frozen they would still be perfectly frosty come lunch and not be warm, I loved them frozen when I was young!

I homeschool but my youngest who is 12 years old is always hungry. We use a lot of leftovers for her extra snacks. Using leftover french toast and pancakes for snacks works good. I love your ideas ,too. That jerky and that is doesn't have a lot of additives is something I need to checkout.

Great ideas and variety! My kids were very picky and each ate their own favorite lunch every day! One tip, is that I made the lunches at night after I cleaned up dinner and put the whole lunch bag into the refrigerator, it saved that time (and thought) in the morning.

Very nice ideas. I would like to see the lunch box after coming home from school to see what they eat and what they don't eat. i was always curious to see what mine ate in school and what they brought home for whatever reason. :) Sometimes I was surprised when something was all eaten and then other things not eaten. My daughter used to bring half of hers home because they did not have enough time to eat their lunches. Such a rush they put them through at one time. I never quite understood that as I think we were given at least a half hour or maybe an hour for lunch when I was in school. But that was many moons ago! :)

Kaden especially is usually eating most of it! Sometimes not the veggies, lol. But we'll keep trying!

My kids are gonna be in 3rd grade and 1st grade this year (school here starts Sept. 3rd). They get free hot lunch (SO grateful for that!!) so I just need to do a snack for them. I'll get some apples or oranges. My kids LOVE grapes and blueberries, so giving them a baggie full of them is what my kids adore. Most of the time though, I can't afford to get grapes and stuff to last a week (cause my kids would scarf them when they got home too), so I will just get a big variety box of the little muffin packages. They also love the little smile gummies from Walmart.

I have 3 kids, ages 19 (son), 17(daughter), & 13(son). I packed their lunches, and still pack the 13 year olds lunch. Those plastic containers never lasted my kids past 1 school year, most broke after a few months. One container brand that has stood the test of time is called Planetbox. I bought once, a long time ago, and they still look and function like new. Just throwing that out there for you new-ish moms 😉

thanks ! The good thing is these ones I bought are very inexpensive so I can get new ones if I have to.

I have one that doesn't like condiments either. Then I have one that likes them only very sparingly- as in you might save time by not adding it, because you can't taste it....and then one who uses condiments as a food group. Ranch dressing and butter, in her mind, constitute as entrees.

If anyone has a Daiso store near them, I highly recommend checking it out for some cute and cheap bento lunch tools. My son’s favorite lunch is when I make rice balls (Daiso has a rice ball maker) and top them with cut out shapes in cheese (Daiso also has tools for this). Then I cut slits in the bottom of little smokies and when they fry up the cut parts of the sausages spread out like the legs of an octopus 🐙 It’s so fun to make their lunches cool for them. I think it’s something they’ll remember when they’re older. 😊

Megan Fox on You Tube freezes breakfast sandwiches ... you take them out the night before and put them in the refrigerator to defrost then pop them in the microwave, regular peanut butter and jelly sandwiches should defrost right in the lunchbox by the time they get to have lunch. I don't have any littles anymore, but it's always nice to have lunch ideas for on the go. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a mom with two much older kids, but I really like your ideas. I'd be curious how you feel this plan works out as you go through the school year. Hope it's a good year for you all. Bless you.
