I’m planning on doing mine the way you do yours. It’ll be large and mich different but I like the concept here a lot. Simple, effective, realistic, and cheap if it needs to be replaced

I love how you do your vivariums. Just a couple of questions: I have white foam. Will it work as well as the black? In another of your videos it looks like you laid down a few squiggles of a white glue before you started the foam. Is that necessary? I hope you have the time to answer my questions because I'd like to do my build this weekend. And advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your videos. Generous.

The white foam works well too and the silicone is needed too

What plants would you say may work well with a larger bodied snake like a carpet python?

will this work with high humidity enclosures or do i need to silicon the spray foam pound and stone i just want to make sure its safe for my pet and everywhere else is saying to let the spray foam dry and then carve it and then silicon it and add the dirt/ co coir

It's safe once everything is dry the one that takes longer to dry is silicone. The only reason it's saying to carve it is because silicone won't stick well to the smooth foam so that means the substrate won't stick. Most people carve it to add a bunch of details. Clint does his background with a gorilla glue that is basically the same as the foam but he also doesn't carve. You just have to do whatever works best for you.

This never works for me am I doing it wrong I feel like the substrate never sticks to the foam properly 😢

Some keys to success are to have everything ready and to work fast. You only have 10-15 minutes before the foam starts curing. While the foam is still wet and expanding add your completely dried spagnum moss and coconut fiber. If it has even the slightest bit of wetness it will not stick. Once covered in substrate gently tap down to ensure it gets a good hold. Wait 24 hours to lift up and reveal the results.

How long before you can put your pet in the enclosure?
@EverEvolvingExotics Жыл бұрын
It’s safe to add them once there is no smell (a couple days). I like to grow out my planted enclosures for a month before adding a pet. This allows time for the plants and clean up crew time to establish.

so much easier than carving away for hours and then painting it with that toxic smelling silicone. thanks for this!
