Thanks @DeLuca - I first saw this lesson a couple of years ago but couldn't get it, as had just picked up the bass again at that point after a longgggg time. I only just came back to your genius lesson today. Glad I did - really enjoyable. Thank you sir! You put the fun into funky.

Hey thanks for saying that. That’s a good lesson that just because you don’t don’t get it at first doesn’t mean you can’t come back to it at a later date. Believe me that happens to me too. There are songs I have trouble with at first but when I come back later the song is clearer to me and I hear what is happening better. 👍🏾😎👍🏾

Bernie Worell, "Dr. WOO," was a musical genius and one of the coolest and laid-back persons to meet. As a small child he was composing classical musical. Miss you much Bernie. You and Funkadelic and Parliament are the main reason I switched from drums, bass, and lead guitar to keyboard and synths. He was a MOOG man all the way!! Plus Clavinet and some other keys thrown in there. Miss you much. Always and encourager.

Dope... One of my favorite songs of all time! Not only the bass, but that other guitar playing those intricate notes in the background.

Getting down just the funk of it. If you don't mind i'm going to download a couple of your videos. It helps me develop a better hear for what ever kind of music I'm listening to. It worked with a drummers tutorial. Thankyou.

Hi De Lucca, Thx for the lesson. Great tunes as usual. Any possibility of bass tabs for us novices pls?
@DeLucaBass5 жыл бұрын
Sorry man I don't recommend using tabs plus even if I did I don't even know how to them write out!
@fordhammie5 жыл бұрын
Gregory Herson Gregory Herson Tabs are easily created by transposing where DeLucca says to depress on the fretboard. Pull out a pic of Bass notes on the neck and write down where Em is; that’s your first transcription into tabs... ie. E| - -0- -0-2-2-3 (remember; tabs doesn’t reveal rhythm).

It's funny how someone can come on your post and give it a thumbs down. If Stanley Clark gave you a thumbs down it would be different and still a compliment. You got mad skills.

How do I get that tone
@DeLucaBass9 жыл бұрын
+Ivan Massey Well that depends on several things... 1. Your instrument 2. Your amp 3. EQ settings/Effects 4. Lastly...Your fingers and how you attack the instrument. So try different things until you get the tone you like. For me I am always trying to get better tone and its a constant thing I strive for.
