I am noticing all the videos I see, the women already have pretty healthy hair. How would this work on “aging” hair, I am 57. Will I need to straighten my hair first? I’d love to see this used on older women with unruly hair.❤

Hi Lisa - I was so surprised when I saw this video. I have been looking at these for over a year, I was going to try the Dyson Air Wrap - ordered it the beginning of March, supposedly there have been issues with the Shanghai Port and I still have not received it. So, about two months ago I ordered the same Beachwaver curling irons that you did - same sizes and colors. I'm 60 and my hair is very long right now. I trim the bottom a couple of inches two or three times a year. But, since I have been locked in my house since 2019, I just decided to go "Wild" and let my hair grow out - it's to the small of my back (around 12" past my bra strap). My hair has always been really thick with a natural wave/frizz when humid. I got the Virus right at the end/beginning of the year. It's sort of turned into Long Covid with bizarre symptoms! One of which is that I lost over 50% of my hair! I still haven't decided what to do with it which was one of the main reasons I got the 1" and 1.25" - I figured if I went shorter, I'd want the smaller size. My D-I-L taught me a trick that is great for when you don't have a lot of time. I like to wear my hair down, but don't like it in my face. So, I just kind of take the top and sides and secure them with a clip. So, I make Two ponies - all of my top and sides and temporarily tie it up to the very front of my head (mostly to keep it out of the way) and then using my thick elastic, I put the rest of my hair all the way up on the top center (think of I Dream of Jeannie Pony)!! Then using the 1.25" I separate sections and just start curling/wrapping my hair (I use a Setting/Hair Spray which is also a heat protectant along with making sure that my hair is completely cooled down before I do anything to it. So, I leave it in the pony and sort of slide it down my head. Then I take my sides and top hair and re-fasten it to the very top of my head (like Pebbles). Then using the 1" iron, I separate into sections and curl. This gives you larger soft curls as "The Base" and the smaller tight curls all over on top. Take the pony out and then finger brush (mostly to add volume under the smaller curls). Then I take the pony off the top, grab my clip to secure the top and sides (don't really mess around with these curls by combing). Then I just make sure my curls are all going in the right direction and I'm done. This look is very easy to dress up or down. I guarantee you that it took me way longer to type this than it does to do my hair. I know it's quicker overall because my hair isn't as thick as it used to be, but it took anywhere from 30-50 minutes to curl my hair before (like you showed on the video) and doing it in the ponies takes maybe 10-15 minutes Max!! I'm sorry for writing a mini-novel, that wasn't my intention at all!! 🤪 My brain goes faster than my fingers and I was trying to make sure I got the steps right! I've never wrote a comment on here but you've given us so many Tips & Tricks, I was a little excited to hopefully give you one. You are an Excellent Teacher and I have really enjoyed All of your videos. Have a Wonderful Day 😊 💜

Lisa you are very good at giving detail to your tutorials! As a hairstylist it's hard to explain to clients sometimes without showing them. I use the curling iron off to teach clients first how to hold etc. I like the 1" barrel, but I like all the other options on the 11/4 iron. Have a fantastic weekend my dear!!🥰 One of these days I'd love to come to Texas and meet you and your hairstylist Gracie! 🥰🥰

Thank you for this video. I have thick long hair so I always go for longer barrels too but my curls always look to flat and loose wavy vs a more defined wavy. I’m planning on getting one inch to get the tighter curl since I already use my flat iron for the looser style curl 😊

My 12 year old daughter has very long thick straight hair. I got her a 1.25 inch barrel Beach Waver for Christmas. We have used it several times for school. Love how easy this tool is to use. The curls look great right after it’s done, but by the time she gets home from school, they are gone. I think the problem is that we are not sectioning the hair properly. She has so much hair I know I probably need to have more sections with less hair in each section. That, hopefully, will give the curls more staying power. Thanks for the tutorial, Lisa! Great video!

Thanks for the tutorial. I have the 1.25 and I love it. One tip I might add is to hold the barrel somewhat more vertical as opposed to horizontal if you want beachy waves vs curls.

I have the Beach Waver S1 Pro (the one with the longer barrel for long hair) I love the result I get on my fine highlighted hair, but the curls do fall out quickly unless I use a heat protector styling spray on each section before curling. I use the Living Proof Flex styling spray for this, but I ordered the Beach Waver heat protector spray to try it out (haven’t received it yet) so yeah a styling spray is a must for fine hair or else the wave just falls out.

Great tutorial, Lisa, thanks! I just ordered the B1 and I'm excited to try it. I didn't know about the spinning features of the Beachwaver. I'm not at all adept with curling irons, in fact, last time I tried, I burned a spot on my ear!! All healed now and ready to give it another go, especially since I recently took a screen grab of a really cute style on IG. The cut is very similar to mine and it's styled with soft, casual waves all over and that adorable piecey look.

Hi Lisa, I loved the one inch barrel size on your hair, especially for your Summer months over there, it gives a real beachy look to your beautiful hair and something different to the usual curl or wave of your hair, it’s something I’d be very interested in getting because I have trouble curling my hair with just a regular barrel wand, where this one does the work for you, I Love it very much and will check out there website to see if they do international shipping, fingers crossed 🤞🏻 and using your discount code will help a lot because it will be more expensive for me here in Australia 🇦🇺 once it’s converted to the AUD, I’m not sure whether I’ve seen them being sold here in stores but then I haven’t been looking. I loved the way you had your hair kind of half up when sectioning it for the last section, it was cute 🥰 you should wear your hair like that more in your videos, keeping it away from your lovely face, but you’ve got gorgeous hair just like I once had when I was younger, THICK HAIR Lol 😂 but not so much thick anymore. Much Love and Kindness from Janelle xoxo

How long does it take for the Beachwaver to ship? I ordered mine 9 days ago and it hasn't shipped yet. On the website it says processing time is 1-2 business days. If that was true, mine would have shipped several days ago. It can take up to 12 business days once it ships. I'm regretting my purchase and losing hope that I will receive it in time for Christmas. Customer service sucks when they don't even bother to notify about whatever issue is causing the delay. If it was out of stock, it should have said so. Other items showed as out of stock, but the one I ordered said it was in stock. I almost signed up for auto delivery on the products I ordered, and now I am so glad I didn't. I won't be ordering from them again.
