Easy Beef Curry Pasties

Oh yum!! If, like me, you happen to live in a place where something like mango chutney is almost impossible to find, in a pinch a small dab of apricot jam will serve as a substitute. It won't be exactly the same, of course, but it will add that little hint of fruity sweetness that is so appealing.

I have my daughter and son-in-law coming for dinner this weekend and this is what will be served. With an onion gravy topper. So yummy! I was under the impression these were more difficult to make. Boy, was I wrong.

They look delicious. we used to eat something very similar in Singapore. We called them curry puffs, made with shortcrust pastry and deep fried. Here in Spain they are called empanadas, with the curry of course and made with corn type flour (from South America) and also deep fried.

Hi Mike, a mixture of both, I used to get Brits, bringing their Spanish neighbours to the shop or sometimes buying a pork pie or something as a thank you for a Spanish neighbour which in turn brought them to the shop. Don't forget, I also had a good Celebration Cake decorating side yo my business too and chilares First Communion cakes were a big hit with the Spanish.
