A straw for drinking hot chocolate can be a problem for me! I never know the temperature of the cocoa at the bottom of the cup. Myself & kids have screamed from a scalded mouth. 😢 Yes, a plain lid is good for shaking/ remixing hot cocoa! 😊

The straw is there for you to be able to put cold beverages in the cup as well. I would hope that people would not , nor allow their kids to drink hot beverages with a straw.
