IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DUSTY POLYMER CLAY: I wasn't the best either at keeping the clay clean but don't worry too much about it, you can clean the charm with acetone, I do that before baking but others do that after baking, also I always have wet wipes to clean my hands when I'm making my charms and I wash my work surface before starting. I also clean my tools with wet wipes every time I see them getting colored or something if it will transition other colors on my other clay I clean it. You should also have some leftiver clay or so called scrapclay to roll all over your worksurface once in a while when you are making charms, that way that clay will pick up dust, bits of unwanted clay and you can even roll it in your hands to get rid of dust and all. I hope I helped a little😘

The lettuce on the burger is GENIUS!! I've been making charms for 3 years and my tools include: A paperclip, a bobby pin, a sewing needle, a safety pin, a tack and a straight needle as well as cotton swabs and toothpicks. You really don't need to buy professional tools other than a blade and maybe roller.

Thanks! All are super cute. I'm trying to lose my fear to use my starter pack of FIMO. Do you put the pin with glue before or after oven time? Sorry if it's a silly question. 😅
@zeebialps93544 жыл бұрын
You would need to put it in before baking so that there is a hole in the clay. You can leave it in when it goes into the oven because it's made of metal. The pin won't stay in by itself so you can just pull it out and apply superglue before gluing it back. (You could also do the same thing with liquid clay before baking)

I really need some help with what kind of polymer clay to use. I’m a beginner and I’m only going to be using my clay to make candy, canes, gingerbread houses, and basically anything sweets related. I bought 15 packages of Sculpey III but haven’t opened it yet. The other brands don’t have as many colors which is why I chose that brand but if it’s not the best then I can return them for something else. What do you mainly use? I would greatly appreciate your help and I love your tutorials. Thank you in advance!

Is it okay of the eye pin os screw in? Will it damage anything if i try taking it out?
@amandafees85254 жыл бұрын
I'm just beginning to learn about this stuff, but if I was in your situation I might a couple of practice pieces (like a ball, dome, dought, etc) really quickly (no details, just basic shapes) and stick in the eye pin and bake it. That way if you go to pull it out and it breaks then you didn't just goof something you spent a lot of time on.

I think nerdicrafter does
@zeebialps93544 жыл бұрын
I dont believe she does, I think Rachel only uses sculpy III, Sculpy PREMO and the FIMO ranges. If you wanna use Sculpy souffle it's good for doing things like whipped cream if you use one of the piping tools. However like Mark Hampton said, I believe NerdEcrafter uses a lot of Sculpy souffle. Infact she has a video where she compares some polymer clay, so she'll probably talk about it in that. It's quite an old one so I'd recommend just searching for it. C:
