I would skip the seasoning packet, as the sodium content is through the roof. I use a low sodium chicken soup base (powder) instead. Looks yummy! We love Ramen.

same here. I'd put in my own seasonings and throw the packets in the trash

Good job on the roux. As long as your sauce is creamy and thickened with out turning into a blob, you've made it right. 😊

To reheat most dairy sauced noodles the next day, add a bit of milk to the noodles, stir and heat slowly while stirring occasionally. Works great with Alfredo.

I don't eat ramen noodles anymore because they don't go in a keto diet, but when I did, I used to like to be creative with them. I used to always drain them no matter what and then for one way, I would add butter and soy sauce and nothing else. In another, I would add cream of chicken or cream of broccoli soup. I always broke up the noodles before putting them in water.

Have you ever tried the Zero Noodles by Nasoya? They are sold in most stores in the vegan/vegetarian part of the produce or fridge areas. They are made with Konjac Flour, chickpea flour and a few other ingredients....I use them from time to time and they don't spike my blood sugars like regular pasta does...❤❤❤
@MarnysCrochetandCrafts Жыл бұрын
@@RIODJENIRO1 Oh yes, I always keep some of those on hand just to bulk up my dishes. I'm not sure what brand I have at the moment, but I know the ones I buy don't have the nasty smell to them (most of the time).

You could add ground beef or leftover chicken (rotisserie), salsa, tuna. I would split the seasoning packet and put half in sauce and cook the noodles with the other half so that can absorb some of the flavor and not be so plain. It’s a way of cutting some of the sodium out, just a little. Put your favorite hot sauce on it when eating.

I've taken ramen noodles, cooked them and then added peanut butter( 2 Tbsp) and sirracha ( as hot as you can take it) thinning the sauce with a little cooking water then adding the sauce back to the noodles. Asian peanut noodles. You can add chopped peanuts, green onions or whatever you want. Greg, give it a try😋

I've watched this video a couple of times now.. I'm going to have to try it. I'll tweak it up to make mine. I love easy one pot meals and especially budget friendly. When you raise 2 kids alone with no help from their dad. You have to be budget friendly. They grown and on there own. Still I'm budget friendly . Old habits sometimes don't die. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

I have been making white and cheese sauces for about 60 years and my sibling says I'm an "expert" lol. Here is what I have learned. 1. After you add the flour mix well and cook for an additional 1 or 2 minutes BEFORE adding the milk. This helps cook the raw flour taste out of the sauce. 2, Add the milk slowly, a little at a time, stirring constantly. If you pour the milk in all at once, the sauce becomes lumpy. 3. Corn starch does not "cook" the same way as flour. If someone needs gluten free, I would add the corn starch to the cold milk in a cold pot and stir well. As the mixture heats up, it will thicken and any lumps will cook out.. If they miss the "butter flavour," they can add some butter powder to the milk and cornstarch mixture. Like you, I prefer my noodles mixed well with the sauce. But noodles continue to absorb sauce , even in the fridge. So only make the one packet of noodles at a time, then only add half the sauce, saving the other half in the fridge or you can even freeze it. (I often make a lot of extra sauce and freeze in portioned containers to use on the fly cooking) Cook the other package of noodles when you are ready to eat it again, or use a different type of noodles. Alternatively, use a smaller pot and only make half the amount of sauce. Finally, a tip for those who require low sodium and don't want to use the flavour packets. There are lots of bouillon powders available at the stores, Oxo is one, and I think Knorr has one as well. I personally use a vegetarian chicken flavoured one. Love this idea for a new twist on Raman. Going to check out your other cooking videos now. Thanks!
